Speed Racer The Next Generation

Today (well yesterday...the 2nd heh) the new Speed Racer toon premiered on Nicktoons Network at 7pm! It was actually pretty snazzy! I really got into it, which I was suprised cuz the old Speed Racer cartoon wasn't really my thing....it had it's moments, but I wasn't too into it. So far I really liked this one!

Did anyone else catch it? And if so, what'd you think? The next episode is said to come on next Friday at 7pm as well.

I'll give a more detailed opinion of the premiere when I'm not so tired

I watched this, it was better than I thought it was.  With a few new twists that made the show even more interesting to me.

I'll talk more about it later.... just doing some fast posts before crashing for the night.

Well, at risk of revealing my true age, I'm a fan of the original series, and I was a little disappointed.
This kind of animation style works for Kappa Mikey and the dancing sushi, but not for an action series like Speed Racer!
The only thing I DID like was the headmaster of the school who is voiced by Peter Fernandez, who was Speed Racer 40 years ago(when that show was cool!). I found the Mach 5 very impressive in the original series becuase it was hand drawn and not a computer image!
And Chim Chim's a ROBOT?!?! 

OK, I've bashed it enough! This is an interesting concept to see a new generation of racers. I'm starting to like the tension between Speed and X. I hope the great race between them will be exciting next week!
I do like the Pizza Delivery shorts though! They're hilarious! 

Sorry, guys, I guess I'm just an old school type, and I miss the magic of anime style for Speed. I even liked Speed Racer X. I'm beginning to think when they put an X after the name, that means the show is doomed! It happened to Sonic! 

At least us old fuddy duddies have the movie coming next week!

Since they're not trying to redo the original series, I'm not going to compare it to the original series.  I liked that it wasn't trying to be a redo. 

At first the animation got to me, but I got into the characters.

Yeah, I guess it's hard to top a classic! I really LOVE that car! That's the main reason I watch the original series, and still love it!

This new generation will be good for new fans, though. I like what they're doing with the strife between the two brothers, Speed and X. I think it might stick around a little longer, especially if the movie is successful(and I hope it is!).

Hey Hun, are you talking about Three Delivery? The short clips they showed about the people running the chinese resturant? It's gonna  be a new toon coming in June that I'm kiiiinda excited about

Oh the sadness of it all....this series seems to only play new episodes Fridays at 7pm, and my work just looooooves to make me close every weekend, which means working 2-10:30pm....which means not only do I tend to ALWAYS miss the new episodes, I also tend to miss if they replay it again 3hrs later for west coast time, if they do that, I'm not sure...most of the shows tend to.

I should tell my work I need to change my availability...I can't work any later then 6:30pm Fridays cuz I need to be home by 7! God forbid they ask me why....uh, cuz I need to be home to watch a cartoon! I'm sure that would sound lovely lol
