I didn't even get to a comic book store, but my dad did and he picked up two comics.

I was too busy getting things together for my Bday today Wink

I went to Modern Myths in Northampton! (pictures forthcoming) Rumor had it that earlier the store had been "packed" and all the good free comics were gone. But I showed up at something like 9 PM and landed two special free-comics-day issues: X-Men and Tiny Titans. My first comic books! And there was much celebrating.

Then somehow I wound up buying my first manga and my first dice. So it turned into a somewhat expensive Free Comics Day, but my Geek Quotient is now considerably increased. Happy/Smile

The comic book store is not haunted; it was raining. The cashier that evening was Mike I. Happy/Smile

Picked up my NECA figures at Comics Unlimited-- my first Free Comic Book day!  Bought two issues of Usagi Yojimbo, FOUND IN THE NEW/CURRENT SECTION SHELVES A COPY OF "SHELL SHOCK"-- NO BAG, NO INDICATION IT WAS USED-- AND NOT A REPRINT!-- and got my first free comic (the Hell Boy one-- plus I got some other free things).

Nice day all around.

Thats an impressive comic book store. But I still love mine b/c it has nothing to do w/ gaming (like all these new fancy comic stores that leave out the "comic book" essence) and, its like the "old time" comic shop you'd find in the early 80's and 90's that is so hard to find these days. This actually was the only free comic book day my brother and I ever went to though. Picked up free issues of Superman and X-men. I was lucky to find some tales of the tmnt collected books and a Savage Dragon volume 1 archives.

For me, I got two free comics and paid for two of 'em, which meant I got four in total as well as my regular comics from Space Cat. The FCBD comics I got from were: X-Men #1, EC Sampler, and Graphic Classics. After Space Cat, I went to Heroes and got the Hulk / Iron Man Sampler and the Zulli TMNT issues #s 35 and 36. So yeah, I did pretty good from my third Free Comic Book Day and I have four comics that I've yet to read.  LOL
