yeah, ok tried to write a funny title, but to be honest this is cracking my head... Mad

Well today I was working at McDonalds and suddenly I had this man before me, I couldn't tell what accent he had so I wondered where he was from...

His name's Jimmy Rooney

He said he did voice overs for Disney and characters like Mickey Mouse, Tweety and silvester.
And I told him that I'm a huge TMNT fan and suddenly he did Raphael.
I was like: O___O
I told him: I'm a huge fan of Donnie and he said he did the voice of Donnie in the earlier series as in the last movie...

So, we exchanged e-mails and he gave me also his website: http://www.jimmyrooney.com

But I can't find anywhere that he actually did the voice of Donnie or Raphie.
Can anyone help me with that? Because I don't understand... My english is really limited... T___T

Hey,

The last movie (from the earlier series) Donatello was Corey Feldman, not this guy.  And I don't know of anywhere that he could of been Raphael or Donatello.

People can do the sounds of the voices without being the real voice actors.

If he did anything TMNT it would of been uncredited work.  Like TV ads or something like that.  His name is not listed for Donatello on any of the major releases, from the shows or movies.

Yeah listening to his voices, he's not the real voices of those either.  And a search on IMDB, doesn't show much for him.  In fact Jimmy isn't even listed there as a voice actor...

Here is the results for IMDB when searching the name:

I did send him an email, let's see if he replies.  I asked him what he did, why it's not mentioned on his site and why it's not in the credits.  Figured instead of everyone guessing we might as well find out.  I've met uncredited people for the movies before, like the folks who do looping...  so I didn't do this as an insult or anything towards him, just a fact finding mission Wink

But for someone trying to put their name out there for voices, none of the voices he has on his site sound even close to what they were.  That's more of an example page of what he can do, the thing that gets me about it is... why doesn't he have a list of what he has done instead of just examples?

Ok, I got a reply and here's a section from the reply that I'm going to post.

Quote from: Jimmy Rooney
In 1986 i was hired to do the voices for several turtles, by a company named, murakami-wolf-swenson film productions. For a TV series coming out on 12-14-1987. But instead i became the person who did the ADR for the turtles. My job is to make the voices you hear in the movies and on TV sound better. Because i could do so many voices they did not want me to  do just one voice so i became the ADR of several voices. Unfortunately we do not get our names in the credits which is too bad because I do dozens of voices and can not get credit for them. Iam not the named star. Like stunt doubles or stand-ins.
Sometimes even the real stars have stand ins for there voices. Just like Julie Andrews who did not sing all of the songs in Sound of Music. Hollywood is know as the smoke and mirrors of the entertainment industry. Just because you read it does not mean its true. There are a lot of things behind the scenes that the ordinary person does not know. Sorry. Those are called Hollywood secrets.

I know what ADR is, though I guess a lot of people don't so he decided to explain it.  Though that does explain why he's not in credits and the bottom of his website mentions that he's the ADR voice over.  Which yeah, I can see that.  ADR is not the star of a show, though they do deserve credit.

I've never heard of him before, but it's true many actors such as him are so talented, able to voice hundreds of characters and not get their name shown in the big spotlight.  A huge shame, but that's how Hollywood can be.  Sad/Down  Oh, but he got it wrong about Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music.  She did perform all of the songs in the film...uh, I think?  It's been a while since I sat through the entire thing!   Embarassed  A bit of Trivia, though, I have an old record of songs from Mary Poppins and the lead vocal for Mary was Marni Nixon instead.  Nixon also sang for Audrey Hepburn's Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, a role that Andrews did perform on stage.
