As good as the turtles are I think all the turtles have a hidden dark side that they don't like to awknowledge in them selves. I think every one of them at some point has gotten so frustrated with their situations that they have wanted to act upon those negative emotions and do evil.

What makes the turtles so interesting to me is their dual personalites and their depth of character, and as honorable and straight laced as the turtles are I think each are capable of giving into their more negative impulses. In season four you see Leo tye a bad guy up side down from a high place to frighten him into telling him what he wants, which is basically torture and he is the most honorable. I mean the turtles are warriors who commit acts of violence on a regular basis even when the cause is just, it must take a toll on them after a while. They constantly have to go with the "lesser of two evils" when making dessions and their life style is so full of gray areas. no matter how inocent and good hearted the turtlwes are deep down they are living the life of a warrior and walking down a down path that could over take them some day. Could it be that the turtles life style might eventually corupt them eventually and they become desensenticed nad hard as a result? DOes any one think the turtles have dark sides deep down that they try to fight? What circmstances would make them turn in that direction?

Everyone has a dark and a light side, that'd be like asking if Shredder ever thought about acting on his good side instead for himself.  Wink

Raphael is a great Turtle to use as an example here, in almost every realm of the Turtles, he has done something that he regrets.  He has a hard time excepting the life of having to hide away only because they're different so he struggles with this.  Look at him as the Nightwatcher, leaving the guys not just chained up.. but hanging.

Leonardo is always struggling inside with his choices if they're right or wrong.  Which goes back to City at War, did this happen because of them?  Were they in the wrong?  A fight that Leo had to think over and over about.  I loved in the comics that they brought up how it was Splinter who asked them to kill Shredder and if they should of.

Donatello, he's deff got a dark side.  Look at Volume 4 of the Mirage comics... he had Baxter Stockman alive?!!  Talk about a well weird turn of events there...

Michaelangelo has a dark side, but he'd be the hardest Turtle to change to it... it shows through on him when his family is at risk most... the anger can be seen... it took that just to win the rematch in Grudge Match episode.  Most people would not see that as a dark side of Mike, cause he's doing it for good.  Though fighting... does two wrongs make a right?

I don't see any of the Turtles turning to a life of crime down their life... because they already have it hard enough as it is... and they know how it is to be on the receiving end.. no matter how tempting... they don't want to hurt innocent people.

Though the chances of them going evil is just as equal as the chances of everyone on this planet... every human, animal, insect...  we all have choices that sway back and forth.  As we work out our own balance in life.  We choose where we go, and fight to keep who we are.  There are people out there who try to force you to take a road that is not you, be it trying to tell you who you can and can not be friends with... to what you should do with your life.

So to think the Turtles are prefect and never even think of swaying... well it'd make them seem unreal... no one is that prefect.

I just wonder if the turtles ever have times where they have moral delimas where they can't seprerate the practicality of what they do with their own personal issues with it. I'm sure the turtles think to themselves when in battle "a enemy is attacking me or threating my family so I have to stop them, and if I kill them in the process it was nessasary and unavoidable". But I wonder if they ever feel really bad or or have trouble rationalizing acts of nessacary violence like that and it bothers them morally. And if some day they come across a situation that they can't rationalize and it destroys their faith in their life style.

the boys are really good hearted guys and have almost innocent ways about them that hints at the purity of their hearts, which is probably a result of having been isolated all their lives from the darkest evils of the world.  yous don't see that very often with indivuduals who walk the path of a warrior. Being a warrior means you use force and violence to often to reach a goal and sometimes there is no right or bad but the lesser of two evils that ultmiately mean you have to do bad even if you don't agree with it because the situation demands it. I mean the boys have seen alot of darkness in their lives but i don't think they have quite been exposed to the true evil and violence of human nature or even been exposed enough to the roughness their life style of a warrior can take them.

In my humble opinion, they don't. Although Leo did have a hissy fit when he went through that phase of his. :p I have to admit.. i tend to have a hissy fit at times. *sniggles* The only time Donnie had a dark side was when he was dressed as the Dark Turtle. *PURRRRSSSSS!* But that don't mean he has a dark side. I've pounced on my Donnie plushie Turtle some times. lol Mikey, hmmmmmmm NAH! Mikey's to sweet and innocent ( and maybe a bit mischief  *HINT!* ). Raph.... well..... I don't wanna SAY anything cause I might get bopped or tickled. I think I've just about said it.  hehe *hugs 4 everyone*

I'd say yes definitely they do, because I agree with Ivey that everyone has a dark and light side, whichever side you sway closer to is going to determine your life choices. We definitely saw this with Leonardo where he did have to make a decision that almost and would've resulted in his family becoming killed and it really changed him for a while. It was also really hard to get him to come back to his old self. We definitely got to see Leo's dark side for nearly an entire season.
Raphael definitely, he's the one who lets it loose the most. Most of his tough choices however are based on anger because he has an issue with that. He could be the one most easily turned I think, that's why in the BttS ep where they all get turned evil I kinda expected Raph to not change back although he did.
Donnie, well yeah he got all moody for a few BttS eps because he blamed himself for losing Master Splinter, and refused to let anyone else help him. Also am I the only one who notices that really sad stuff keeps on happening to him? I mean, Same as it never was..., of all the alternate realities he could've been sent he got sent to the one where he got to see his brothers all die, I mean if that doesn't damage you somewhat I don't know what will.
With Mikey I agree with Ivey on this one, he would be very difficult to change and difficult to change back, he's the one who always keeps the upbeat attitude in the face of everything. And he's also kinda been sheltered, while Don was sent to a post-apocalyptic world, he was sent to a world where he and his brothers were superheroes, a dream come true, so that's my view on things heh,
