April's stance on Casey's vigilante life style

I've watched the new movie quite a number of times now and it's hinted at that Casey has to hide his activities of being a vigilante from April by hiding his gear on the roof because she doesn't approve of it. But at the same time April is training with Splinter in ninjitsu and becoming proficient in fighting like the turtles and has her own weapon and fighting outfit in the event of helping out the turtles. Why is it ok for April to do this but she doesn't want Casey to do it?

Perhaps she knows how dangerous it is on the streets, and while she's sure Casey could take care of himself, she doesn't trust anybody else out there. She takes up ninjitsu to protect herself while Casey goes "looking for trouble".
