Newsarama.com interviewed Peter Laird and asked several questions regarding TMNT comics, current tv show, and the pending sequel to TMNT.

Quote
NRAMA: On the film development front, how's it going with Imagi and WB on the sequel?

PL: I'm not sure that we will be working with Imagi on the sequel -- I'd like to, but we're looking into other options. I can't really talk about it in detail, but there are several interested parties we're talking to. One of the things which seems to appeal to everyone is this idea of doing what people are calling a "hybrid" movie -- one where most of it will be live-action, but the Turtles would be very realistically rendered CGI characters. I think that could be, if done correctly, incredibly cool. One thing that I would love to see happen is to try to get Sarah Michelle Gellar and Chris Evans (who performed the voices of April O'Neil and Casey Jones in the 2007 computer-animated TMNT movie) to reprise those roles in a sequel... but as live-action versions of April and Casey. I think that would be wicked cool! As far as I know, at this point they have not been asked, and I have no idea if they would be interested in doing it. I can hope, though!

Well, Mindychan....I don't know what to say about the sequel, except that I hope it comes to fruition.  These darn movie things lose momentum so quickly sometimes......I just hope this one gets a fire under it real quick like and just takes off.  Before anything happens to really squelch it.

I really like the hybrid-idea.  I had hoped for that in the first place with the fourth movie.  Because I know that it is possible to make The Guys look like they are moving and living in our flesh and blood world.  It would be a real trip to finally see Them that way, instead of just in our minds.

As for Gellar and Evans.....I dunno.....I get a real strong feeling that if their schedules permitted it, they would do this movie.  Can't say exactly why I think that.  It's just that old outta left-field thing that comes to me sometimes. And sometimes I listen to it. *shrug*

I'm iffy on the hybrid idea, but I trust Peter and his team will make sure it looks right. I think Chris Evans would be a fab Casey Jones; heck, Chris even reminds me a lot of Elias (a younger Elias now..  Rolling Eyes Boy, I feel old). And Sarah might make a good April. Iffy about that one, too.

I really liked the direct to dvd idea they had. In fact, I could go for some 2d animation again. Not saying I would exclude anything else.
