NEW YORK, June 12: Mirage Studios and 4Kids Entertainment are gearing up for the 25th anniversary of the animated kids’ property, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) in 2009 with the launch of a new teaser website this summer.

The TMNT25 website, located at www.tmnt25.com, will go live at the kickoff of ComicCon San Diego in late July. Mirage Studios and 4Kids Entertainment have contracted design company Zype to develop the teaser website, which will give fans the opportunity to register for “Shell-ebration” news and updates, as well as enter into a sweepstakes for special 25th anniversary prizes. The teaser site will transition into a full interactive website as the TMNT 25th anniversary approaches.

Strategic communications agency Peppercom and its experiential marketing division, Peppercommotions, will manage the building of the site and its launch at ComicCon with activities and giveaways for TMNT fans.

Throughout 2008 and 2009, the TMNT25 team will look to expand the brand’s reach through additional and ongoing licensing partnerships and marketing activities. The “Shell-ebration” will include a communications program supporting nationwide tours, events and activities emblematic of the property.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles premiered in May 1984 in a comic book published and distributed by Mirage Studios. A TV series followed shortly after, along with a record-setting licensing program and three theatrical films. In 2003, the Turtles were re-introduced in a new TV series, a CGI theatrical movie and a revamped merchandising program.

“Getting the TMNT25 website up is an essential first step as we build our plans for the TMNT 25th Anniversary Shell-ebration,” said Gary Richardson, the CEO of Mirage Studios. “We want our fans to be the first to know about the exciting anniversary initiatives, and get them engaged now to maximize the potential of our 2009 plans.”

“We hope to establish some great traction and buzz with the implementation of the new website,” added Rosalind Nowicki, the executive VP of licensing and merchandising at 4Kids Entertainment. “We are looking to build off this initiative and find additional ways to engage the TMNT audience and enhance their excitement leading up to the TMNT 25th anniversary Shell-ebration.”

Oh, I wish I was going to be attending Comic-Con for that...but I'll check out the new site for sure.  It'll be fun to see all the events and contests coming up for the celebration.

Hey everyone,

Wanted to let everyone know that the TMNT 25th Count Down has been added to TMNT-L.  Just look up at the "Hello" section and you should see it there.   This area has the option of always being opened or lowered, so people have the choice to always have it going on their screen.

Don't know what section I'm talking about, just look to the top of the screen now and right under the TMNT-L Logo there's an area that says "Hello" and your nick name.   That is the section... if you have it lowered right now go to the far right of that bar and press the little plus sign and it'll open up, showing you the Count Down.

Hey Everyone...

TMNT25 has done their last blog, they asked for comments from people's memories from the year.  I added a comment already and think it would be great if others jump in as well.  Let's not leave them hanging, I know a lot of people had a great time this year, be it with part of the tour or another TMNT memory for 2009, share your thoughts there!!

here's a link to the blog:

Left a comment of my own *G*

I don't know if you can see others comments but here is what I put

Quote from: From Danceingfae on TMNT25 blog
I didn’t get to see the bus in New york and thought I would miss it completely. Then you guys came to Seattle so I was able to bring my two year old to see it and Mikey! I can’t tell you how much it meant to her. With mom being a big turtle fan she is one herself. She was so excited to see Mikey! It not only meant a lot to her, it meant a lot to mom to be able to bring her there. Thank you so much for going to Seattle!

Here's a post of my comment I made to the tmnt25 blog;

Quote from: Michele Ivey : TMNT Blog
Well this has been one crazy year, to pick a favorite moment would be hard. With the Tour bus I really loved the set up in Chicago, the ATA demos were awesome, and it was just a relaxing area to be and with cool fireworks. Though over all, I loved the Turtle Party at San D, so many TMNT fans together, friends or not… able to enjoy one moment in TMNT history that will never be forgotten!

Thanks for an awesome year! And hope to see this Turtle bus on the road again!
