For those of you who haven't yet, go to Murph's blog!
Steve Barron wants to help put together a TMNT 1990 DX DVD!
Spread the word! Talk about it! Contact Warner Brothers!
This must happen!!

I want it to come out on Blu Ray as well same time as this DVD but it must be a pristine transfer. The current dvd looks worse then a warnout vhs tape.

Since Murphy doesn't update his blog anymore, I wonder what's the update on this project? Hmm.

The chances of this happening seem to become slimmer and slimmer since they just spent a whole bunch of money repackaging all the existing DVDs 1-3 with metallic print cardboard sleeves for the 25th anniversary, absolutely no difference whatsoever. The Blu-Ray box set is coming out with all 4 movies as most know, but theres no word that there will be any special features as of yet.

Yeah that doesn't make a lot of sense :/ Going to Blu-Ray, sure, but why not add some extra features?

The TMNT 1 On blu ray better be pristine no grain I hate grain. The others looked good on dvd. Also I hope we get this so called directors cut with footage we have never seen yet.

The TMNT 1 On blu ray better be pristine no grain I hate grain. It is by my understanding having read around that the grainy texture of the first movie is on purpose. It was shot that way and so the film itself is grainy. Meaning, no matter how "updated" the DVD version is, it will always have grain because that's the way it is.

Directors Cut? hmmm.. i wonder how much footage is still out there considering the movie should've been PG-13 in its own right..

You are correct! In fact as a film maker I am actually fond of grainy movies. Also a fact of note (which is in the interview we shot with Steve Barron) The flash back sequences were shot on 8mm film which is an extremely small and grainy format especially when blown up to a 35mm work print.

Looks like there is no extras on the 25 anniversary dvd/blu-ray releases coming out. Just barebones like the earily dvd releases. No Word on PQ and AQ of these movies. WB does not like us TMNT fans then need to put more into there releases of there films. I don't think i will be getting these movies in HD now. I see no point now.

Not really pointless... see if we want extras we gotta let the companies know there's money in putting out Turtle stuff, as long as the DVDs and stuff are not selling, they're not going to come out with future sets. So basically we're sealing it as a no go for future extras... though if they sell the companies behind the DVDs would want to find a reason for resale and may listen to Mirage about the extra features that we all want on the DVDs.
Steve Barron said he's got a lot he'd love to put on DVD, but he does need our help to let the companies know we want these features and will buy. This was discussed in the TMNT panel at San D, you can find it on youtube.
So letters and stuff help, but sales is always the way to talk to the companies.
