Hey all,
Things have been keeping busy with Ninja Turtles, all the news for next year being big; with the 25th anniversary coming up, a new season of TMNT on 4Kids, new NECA toys, and so much more to come. The big topic right now is the reviews for "Back to the Sewers", please feel free to check out our TV section and let us know what you think of each of the new episodes. Do you like how "Back to the Sewers" is being handled? Do you miss "Fast Forward"?
TMNT-L is working on some new stuff as well, we had a poll recently for the active members of TMNT-L to see if we should hold Art Awards and the answer is yes, and we want this to be something everyone can take part in. Within the next month we’ll be posting up a list of ground rules for the Art Awards, and asking members to give us feedback upon the rules and let us know of other rules they think the contest should have. This way, when the rules are final for the Art Awards, it’ll be a set of rules that all the members of TMNT-L had the chance to help with.
TMNT-L Artist for 2009, things have been going great with our 2008 TMNT-L Artist, Klork. We did promise that each year we’d open the chance for new artist to step up and take the title of TMNT-L Artist and though the new artist will not be picked until Jan 1st 2009, we are now opening up for artist to send in their work. Rules for art work being sent in are:
• Must be Ninja Turtle connected art
• Only one art piece per a person.
• No names connected to the art work, however please have nick in email with art.
• Past TMNT-L Artists are allowed to enter again.
• Send artwork as attachment to
Modsquad@tmnt-l.comWe'd like to extend a thank you to those that took action with the last newsletter and answered the welcome questions on TMNT-L. There are still over 100 members here on TMNT-L who have not yet taken the few minutes to try and answer these questions. This activity is really a way to help us get to know each other better. It helps with the Secret Santa activity, Birthday topics and so much more. Please, if you have not taken the time to fill out the welcome questions, stop by and do so. You don't have to be a new member to take part in this.
TMNT-L Activities
TMNT-L Secret Santa activity is coming back up. If you are up for taking part in the Secret Santa activity this year, please PM Raphael or Michaelangelo. Please do not PM both, choose one and you’ll be working with that Mod for the rest of the activity. Mods will send out who you will be secret Santa for on November 1st. Please start to send your gifts to your secret Santa on December 15th, all gifts are due no later than December 25th. If you do not follow through with sending a gift, you will not be able to take part in this event in future years.
TMNT-L Trivia - the TMNT-L Trivia is going stronger than it ever has. As we have been able to keep new questions coming in every week. 21 members have taken part in the trivia, 6 of these members are up for awards at the end of this year. There is still time to take part in the Trivia, remember this event is updated every week usually on Tuesday, and is just for fun. It does not matter if you are right or wrong, it’s a fun area for people to check in on each week to see how much TMNT knowledge you know.
TMNT-L Awards, we are already working on details for the TMNT-L Awards. Want to earn an award this year? Please feel free to take part in our activities on the forum to do so - from writing reviews, taking part in Thread Killer, Thread Saver, answering trivia questions, answering “What episode is this from”, and even just taking a part in answering polls on TMNT-L. There are many ways to get your name mentioned in the Awards at the end of the year. Every member has a chance, if you just take part in topics on the forum.
What episode did this come from
We know this activity was mentioned before, though we'd like to bring this up again. This is for all the members who enjoy the original cartoon series. Every Monday a new image or animation cel or original art for animation cels will be posted. The goal is to find out which episode it is from. We're sure members out there know these episodes, if they give it a chance. Even if a new image is posted the ones that do not have their episode names in the picture with them are still open to be figured out. So original series fans, have fun with this topic and see if you can get it right. Even if you don't know the real answer, it doesn't hurt to guess.
