Gifts for Guests - NYC Comic Con.

Ok, here's an idea of something we could do for the TMNT guests.  Find out what everyone thinks.

Two different type of Gift bags one for the Mirage Panelist and one for the 4Kids Panelist.  Try to bring enough gift bags for each guest in the panels, so bring a few extra than what the panel lists so that we are covered in case extra people sit in on the panel.

Now this is gifts from TMNT-L, so anyone who has something to offer can take part in this. 

Ok, what I'll do is provide the bags - I'll go and pick up some brown lunch bags with no images on it already and I'll draw on the lunch bags.   I'll try and do Mirage Turtles for the Mirage panel bags and the 4Kids Turtles for the 4Kids bags.  This would make it so we know which bags go where, but they could still have the same sort of items inside.

What can we put into these bags?   It should be fan made stuff, prints of fan art saying Thank you for all the hard work these people have put into TMNT through these years for us. 

Maybe a conjoined image where someone comes up with the idea, someone else pencils and scans it, another person colors it, another person puts in thank you letters.  Or where we have like five different artist draw it like a round robin table, where it's passed around, and each one adds something to it, than we pass it around for them to ink characters they didn't draw themselves, than pass it around one last time to color characters they didn't draw themselves.  It would have a mixture of the fandom through one image saying Thanks for all their hard work.

Maybe bags of TMNT fruit snacks since we can still find these at stores.

Maybe a thank you note put together by the fans on TMNT-L, one note that could say thanks, which combines each of our short like three or four lines story of why the Turtles are important to us.  Than a list of each of the fans who worked on the letter.

None of this should be personalized to one person or another so we don't have to try and keep the bags in any sort of order, just something we could give to each of them as our thank you. 

I know Mirage wants to have a party for us for being there for 25 years supporting the TMNT at every turn, but at the same time they should also be thanked.  For they did not have to keep doing TMNT for us all these years, it's been their choice and one I know a lot of us are thankful for.

This would be away that fans who can not make it to New York City for the convention can still be a part of this, and get to say their thanks to the crew.

Each bag would also have an invite for the guest who got the bag to join TMNT-L.  So that we can all have a chance to say hi to these nice people.

What do you guys think of this?

- Bags will be handed out at the panel one of us would ask if it's ok to bring up a gift to the guests when they say yes or no, is when we take action.  I've never seen a panelist say no to gifts, if they do we hand them the bags later, but if they say yes than we any member of our group there can grab a few bags to bring up and give the guests.  Saying these are from the fans on TMNT-L, this is our way of saying Thank you.

We don't need to only give these bags to panelist we can also give them out at the booths of TMNT guest that are not going to be in a panel.

Ya know Mikey, that's actually a really great idea! Although I can't exactly draw the Turtles very well, I'd be happy to snag several boxes of the fruit snacks for ya for the bags! I think this is a fantastic idea and we should all do our best to take part in it to show the guests how much we appreciate them all! Spread the word, share the love!

I know the Guest here all do a lot of work and right now I'm sure some of them are feeling a bit down about how things have been going.  I've read a lot of negative stuff from fans online.  Some good stuff, may help lift their spirits.

Please anyone else wanting to take part in helping out, let me know.  Want feedback!  you don't have to be going to the con to take part in this.

I'd like to help, though there isn't too much I can do.

How many bags are going to be needed so far? Or is that still in the decision making process?

I could get a letter started for the bags but leave space for others to also write things in and sign them too.

Plus I have a few extra boxes of tmnt fruit snacks if Crittle doesn't grab enough Just remind me to pack them!

Nothing says "appreciation" like a cool gift bag! 

I can't think of any better ideas than what you've received already, but if my crafty mind comes up with anything I'll let you know!

Well here's an idea for anyone wanting to add something to the letter, do so here in quotes....

Example:

Thanks so much for all you work on Ninja Turtles. They have taught me to read, defend myself and got me lots of friends.  The Turtles have changed my life for the better, and it would not have happened without all of your hard work.  Thanks Michele Ivey.

Just put it in a quote thing like this, and everyone's little thing would be put together and put into the letter.  Remember to please keep it short, so everyone can get into the letter.

Glad people are liking the idea.

Nightwatcheronlygirl this isn't about giving to the members of the forum, but us giving to the guests.  We are not getting any of the stuff we're looking at giving it to them.

Would you like to write a few lines about your fandom to be added to the letter to the guests?  Like Hun and I did?

Speaking of letter, what does everyone think of this as a starter for the letter.

We the members of TMNT-L.com, have gotten together and wanted to Thank all those that made it possiable for Ninja Turtles to be in our lives.  Though we know that not everyone who worked on Turtles will receive one of these letters, though we would like to extend out Thanks to everyone who does get it.

If we're doing this, it'd be nice to get more feed back and letters from other fans.  We had six votes for yes in the "Should We" topic...

If you're up for this just put a short letter in a quote thing here for us to copy and paste.  If you don't want to post it on the board but want to take part in this, please feel free to send me a PM.  Remember a copy of this letter will be given to all those who worked on TMNT that shows up at the con.

Letters have to be in before Tuesday.  If we don't get anymore than the few we already got, I don't think I'll be going through with this.  The idea was for this being a group effort from the fans.
