FROM THE SEWERS TO THE STREETS … TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES EMERGE FOR FIRST APPEARANCE AT MACY’S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE

New York, N.Y. (November 3, 2005) – This Thanksgiving, 4Kids Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: KDE), a global provider of children’s entertainment and merchandise licensing, will kick off the holiday season with a special appearance from everyone’s favorite ninja heroes, the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES™. On November 24, the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES will appear for the first time before more than 2.5 million spectators and 50 million television viewers at the 79th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

“The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is one of the biggest showcases in the world and there is a lot to show for the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES this year,” said Alfred R. Kahn, Chairman and CEO of 4Kids Entertainment. “With a new season for the popular television series and an upcoming major feature film, the Turtles are bigger than ever and we look forward to giving fans the opportunity to catch sight of and cheer on their favorite Ninja Turtle character.”

With more than $1 billion in total retail sales since re-launching in 2003, the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES are a major force in children’s entertainment. The all-new TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES animated TV series is in its fourth season, airing on 4Kids TV™ on Saturday mornings on FOX, as well as Saturdays and Sundays on Cartoon Network. The Turtles have enjoyed tremendous success in both television and at retail, which is expected to be bolstered by an upcoming full-length CG-animated feature film from The Weinstein Co. and Warner Bros. I normally watch the parade on and off every year, but this year i will so be glued to the TV waiting to see the TMNT on it!

It'd be so cool to see this in person but... *looks at selfs location on West coast* eh, it's a little far for a day drive

Awesome!  I'm gonna have to put a tape in for this. Thanksgiving's gonna be at the apartment this year, but I'm gonna be so busy cooking bird and stuffing, I might miss it, so I'm gonna have to write it down and tape it.

'bout time, too. The last couple of years, I turned on Macy's Parade to see if there were any TMNT. Haven't been too terribly fond of it lately, really. I seem to recall more parade, more balloons and shows, rather than the idle chatter between the announcers like they seem to have been doing. Either that, or, lol, as one of Earl's favorite comedians says; "Everything's better when you're ten." Maybe we either watched another parade when I was growing up(there's like, three or four that go on on that day, and my parents tend to flip around between them all), or they did just as much talking and being a kid, lol, I didn't pay attention.

But this year I have a reason to keep it put on Macy's and not flip, and tape it. Yay! Thanks for the head's up! Even if I am busy cooking, I'll tape it so I can watch it if I miss it live.

EEPP!!!   The stupid NBC in this area is showing the local prade NOT Macy's!!!!!!!     I can't watch it from here, anyone else have this problem too?

Oh SWEEEEEET! ...I don't even know what chan/when it'd be on...we never watch it...mostly 'cause the people in Jon's family are all football/hockey fans. *rolls eyes*

I have Macy's on, and I'm taping as we speak. So far, I haven't seen the TMNT, but I've also been a tad busy with the bird and everything, so I dunno if I missed or not. Mom's been watching, says she hasn't seen 'em, so hopefully we'll get to see our Turtles.

Doing way too much talking. I hardly see any floats. I've mostly been able to pick out Barney(ew!) and Dora the Explorer. At least the entertainment's relatively good. Seen some good Broadway acts. Next up is supposed to be the Rockettes, so I'm gonna go off and watch. They always put on a good show.

My boyfriend was watching it on both channels (I had no idea it was the same parade on both) and if the TMNT were on already I'd think he'd tell me just to rub it in that I missed it.  I have it recording on one of the channels but of course I didn't notice that though they were both Macy's only one was the official Macy's.

And apparently a light just fell into the crowd.

Yeah I see about the light too!  I'm watching CBS I believe the one on NBC is suppose to be the offical one.   Though our NBC has the local parade instead.

Any how, so far no TMNT on my end either.

I watched the parade up until the light fell on the crowd.... got bored watching them clean everything up and watched the new Naruto instead...

I should have just watched Gladiator instead. Im sorry I laughed when the light fell. It was boring..too many musicals and junk. You hardly saw a lot of the floats with them yakking or singing.

Man, I'm so disappointed! I taped the whole thing, not a peep of the TMNT.

What I think might've happened is they might have skipped past it in the airing, or they went by during a commercial or something. Tis the season for overcommercializing. Dad and Earl were trying to calculate how much it was...like 2 hours of Parade, 1 hour of commercial, or therabouts. Oy.

Now there's a New Year's Resolution for the networks...cut back on commercials.

Oh well. Off to finish dindin!

The parade for me is on tv right now, and so far i've actually enjoyed the music (i'm a music nut) but it's dissapointing to hear that no one saw the TMNT. I haven't seen them as of yet either and it sounds like i'm not going to.

Man, that's such a bummer *sighs*. Maybe if i hope i'll be lucky? *Crosses fingers*

Edit 11:13am: So far no luck... i've seen sesame street, some broadway things. They're really doing a lot of singing this year, it's getting kinda redundant. Some songs are okay but every single float it seems has a song... oy! *looks at Tv* Speaking of which... *grumbles* I'm gonna stick it out though, but i honestly don't expect to see them on there.

I checked Macy's web site and they have an alphabetical listing of what's going to be in the parade this year, and i saw nothing that said TMNT, 4Kids, or Mirage Studios... Dang it! At least i'll get to see the Beach Boys i love their music.

I have to say though i so wanna hurt one of the Macy's thanks giving parade announcers!!!! *grrr* They made me think the TMNT were actually gonna be on the show because she said "Looks who's coming out of his shell" Who would that make you think of?

But no...  they were talking about Mr. Peanut *grrrr*

Can we get answers why they weren't? I mean, this was on the official site, no less, and it turned out to be a big fat lie. More than anything I loathe being deceived. Now I don't feel so bad about sleeping in.

LM, we weren't deceived. The Mirage site can't be responsible for what happens and not happens in the parade, they can't order the officials to keep the guys in there. I think the main reason is IF they were there and they were not shown was because they reallydidn't have a float. Plus every other minute on each of the stations was musicals or talking by the hosts. THey could have passed by and they didn't have time to show them.

Well look at it this way, at least they didn't show them rather than plop down Disney's latest OMGPOPSTAR on there.

It is unfair, but then again it's not Mirage's fault. They didn't deceive us. They only told us what was given to them.

Well figures should not be pointed, and none of us went live to confirm if the TMNT were there or not, though this event is over.  So I'm going to close this now.  

I'm sorry that none of us got to see the Turtles in this, it is really disappointing.  Hopefully we will see them in the future.
