Back in 98 a rumor went around about a cartoon version of Ninja Turtles the Next Mutation. This rumor spiked up because of some art work given out by a phone company at San D con. It was the Next Mutation Turtles, but it looked like they were drawn for an animated series... at first some people even tried to say they were cels. Though I fastly checked with some friends and found out that there wasn't any talk of the series going animated, it was just a promo thing.
My question in this thread for people to discuss, is would you have liked to have seen an animated series based off of Ninja Turtles : The Next Mutation.
If you would of, what would you have liked to have seen in the series? Would you have wanted the same villains from the live action show to come back? Would you have wanted the series to pick up after the 26 episodes that already aired or would you have wanted to see it start over? Let's hear your thoughts.

I kinda liked the show being live action. Though I didn't get to see much of it, I still liked it like that.
Now if they did it again, I think I would like for them to at least do a recap of what has happened then start from there.

This would have been interesting. Going in new directions is often a tough but necessary thing for a franchise. Now that you mention it, the foam core poster you have at your place of the 5 turtles Next Mutation style but drawn. I was actually thinking about that the other day how that depiction looks 10 times cooler than the live action suits. Although it is hard to say doing a proper live action show with a heavier darker tone would have been better overall.

I prefer live action, though if it kept the series going After it was cancelled I would of supported this. That is when the rumor went around. It was sort of hope to see more from that series.

yeah from the bits i heard about, it was supposed to get interesting. Raph moving out for one. they needed april and casey. venus was just a huge mistake. 4 young men with one female...come on. they would be trying to get her any way they could.

I have mixed feelings about that. I mean we all LOVE those adorable, handsome, Turtles. Not to mention huggable. Ivey, tickle me for that one. I think i've been postin to much mushy stuff about the Turtles on youtube. *looks innocent* Venus is ok. I still find Donnie quite the handsome Turtle.

I think animated would make a cool mini-series, if Venus was modified a little..., there are a lot of good artists on dA that have drawn Venus being awesome and I think it could work.

I prefer animation for a tv series than live action. I think it might have turned out a lot better that way. They were so limited with what they could do w/ the suits and puppetry. For a movie budget, you get a better pool of money where you could actually spend it to make the live action segments look better. Sure, you could probably say the same for an animated tv series but I would see more money needed for live action. *shrug* I could be very wrong about that. My own opinion - animated. Stories and characters could have a little more freedom and flexibility.

The Next Mutation huh... Personally I find that show to be slightly insulting to the TMNT universe. The reason why is because it insults the fans by randomly saying that secretly all along there was this 5th turtle Venus. Splinter then sent her away to train with another master in a different style. I'm sorry but multiple generations and volumes of the TMNT origin have always started with 4 (not 5) pet turtles in the fishbowl that John (the little boy) dropped on his way out of the pet shop down the sewer and into the green glowing mutagen aka ooze. I however have no problem with either, I don't mind if a TMNT show is animated or live action. Just so long as the episodes are well written. I do love the live action movie style suits though.

Most will say just toss her aside but, IMO, she's not a terrible character. I could see her as a renegade or a nomad where she's not always in the limelight or needs rescuing.
