Can I just get this off my chest because it makes me furious? I am so sick to death of people from this one other forum slandering and smearing of our Mikey when every time something needs a bad reference or what's wrong of the fandom, they pick her.

God, what is their problem? I can't figure out the venom they hold towards her. What has she done to them personally? Nothing, and over half of them don't even know her aside from those shows and videos.

Why is this okay to them to do this and why isn't it being stopped? It's not okay; it's never okay.

Hey Mystic,

It's much like my school days, so I guess you can say I'm kind of use to it to the point of ignoring it.  It's sad though that people feel they need someone to attack, but for a lot of people it's what they do.  When something troubles them they pick a target.  I'm a big target because of the things I've done, even if people don't know me they feel they can pick at me cause of it.  Some of them know me and are well I think jealous of what I've done, and don't feel the way I do about things so they feel that I'm in the wrong.  Though what ever their reason, they find a target and come down on them.  And every fandom or large group of people have their targets.

The sad thing about this is that they use this negative feed and weave it through the fandom, they talk more than the target does so they get well known.  Like me, I only talk on this forum usually cause I don't feel I need to go around and defend myself.  So I only really know those who come here, if people message me on the other forums I do try to reply I have accounts on a lot of different areas on the web but I don't check them unless I get pointed in that direction or get an email saying someone sent me a message.  By going out of my way to defend myself, or letting it get me upset I'm feeding into what they want... and though they may want to fight that's not why I'm on the internet.

This can be said for so many different people out there... and right now the fans aren't just attacking the fandom but the people behind the scenes... which I do feel is more than likely going to cause another dry spell for the TMNT.  A personal feeling about this, but if these people who are working like crazy to bring us Turtles only see negative feedback, instead of striving to please these na sayers, they're going to ask why they're doing this and go on with a different area in life.  The Turtles were brought back, by happy memories given to Peter Laird by fans... though that was 10 years ago and right now, a lot of stuff online, no matter who it is about, has negative feedback and it's getting heavier and really more depressing for a lot of people.  How can one truly enjoy their fandom if all they're doing is looking for reasons to be pizza'ed off?

It's not easy to look the other way, but if these people really wanted to get to know me they could message me... they could email me... they could try I'm not hard to get a hold of... esp here on TMNT-L I reply to everyone on this forum for sure.  I may be slow in other places, but I do try to reply.  But they're not looking to get to know the real person, they're not looking to understand the differences... they're just looking for a target.

Why is nothing being done?  Simple... they're looking for reactions... if they get the reactions than they find their amusement out of it... I got better things to do than amuse people who are out trying to ditch something they know nothing about.  *shrug*

Sorry things have been getting to ya, but don't worry about me.  I've got a lot of good friends here who really know me, including yourself.  Wink

It is true that you got burned pretty bad by the videos on TV and such.

It was easy for people to take you the wrong way there.

I'll just say that we intend to show you and everyone we interview in the Documentary as who they are and not make you something you are not. I hope this will help people see who you are and not who the media makes you out to be.

Thanks for sharing your story with us!

And to everyone else lets make this as well rounded as possible! If you have something to say about your fandom! Lets hear ! We want to share your stories!

Lemme put it this way, Mystic-san. Some people just can't bloody well grow up. If some of these people are who I think they area, they're probably holding grudges over baloney that happened years and years ago and being quite childish.

One thing I've noticed with the people I personally know of that like to smear our Mikey, is that the stuff they're picking at her about happened ages ago. Most of the folks involved in these incidents have let it go, moved on, and forgot all about it(myself included in one or two of them if it's who I think that's involved), while the people making all the fuss are the ones who aren't over it.

It's foolishness and best to not pay these folks any attention. They're just being childish and trying to cause trouble. Mikey knows who they are, I might know a few of them myself, but honestly, if Mikey's rolling her eyes about it and not being bothered by it, then it's best not to give these bozos any press and not let it bother you, either. Pretty soon, they'll be left with just their own opinions and themselves and nobody to listen and perhaps then, they'll finally shut up and move on.

Pretty hard to cause trouble when you're the only one who cares anymore, y'know?

I've found the topic Mystic was talking about, not going to say where out of respect of the other forums out there.  Though the people making the comments don't know me at all, I rolled my eyes at it really.  They were comparing me to some video thing, saying they think I act a certain way.   The funny part was, all the things this person says he/she thinks of me is so far off that it's no where near the truth of who I am.  Though if they want to judge me, as they are doing it's their choice.

I do find it funny how people think I am a fan girly girl... I do want to make one thing clear I never pictured myself in any way shape or forum with a Turtle... so when people think I'm a fangirl who has a crush on a Turtle and puts that Turtle in the picture of my love life they are so wrong.  *shrug*  I do know people who are interested more in that area, that's ok, that's their life... but it's not for me.

Yeah, people can be cruel. The best thing you can do is ignore them if it keeps happening. That's what I'd do. Sure, I'd be furious at first and defend myself, but if the people keep it up, I'd just ignore them and move on. That's the best thing you can do. Kudos to you, Mikey, for not letting these people get you down.

Story of my life.  Filthy rotten people is what practically ruined my middle school and high school career.  I grew up with the nastiest types of people, and after all that abuse and name calling and public humiliation and laughting in my face I got, I grew up feeling that most or all people were no good and I can't trust them.  In fact, 9 years since high school I still can't trust most people, which explains why I got VERY selective when it comes to job hunting.  I mean if I kept a tally chart of all the places I ever applied to and how many times each, Best Buy takes 1st place and at the time Circuit City took second place.  Even on my websites which are signatured below were attacked by other forum sites, (Resident Evil) and (Ninja Turtles).  Now I took affirmative action against those two forum sites that if they didn't back off and leave, I was going to have someone of authority remove those sites and make an example of cyber bullying.  And you know there have been cases of people committing suicide and school shootings because of abuse by bullies.  Take that one girl in Missouri, and in Massachusetts; both girls dealt with bullying on a very bad level to where they took their own lives by hanging themselves in their closets.  I hope all 50 states pass strong/strict bullying laws, because bullies don't just break hearts, they can kill lives.  And I sometimes deal with teens/young adults when I go bike riding; punks between the ages of 15 - 25 roll down their car windows and scream something nasty out at me as I ride on by.  JERKS!  There was even one woman at a TJ Maxx store back in 2004 who thought I was saying something mean about her crying daughter, not knowing that I was talking to my friend about someone elses kid, and she sends her barbarian of a husband in to beat me up in the store, and he only made verbal threats and called me a F'ing [C-word].  Barbarians!  So when I read these kind of topics, the first things that comes to mind is "Story of my life."

Although I will admit, ever since that job interview at Best Buy last month and I wear the blue uniform I bought off eBay, I've gotten good feedbacks: thumbs up, soluttes, smiles, and "here there."  So that part felt pretty good.
