Hey everyone,
This is a poll question I thought of a while ago, but held back from posting for a bit. The Question is... Would you let a TV crew come to your house to do an interview with you?
I've heard mixed reactions on this, everyone knows my answer is yes. I've done it now a few times, and still am willing to let more come by. Even though the first crew that came, really hacked up the story. I got no reason to hide, and got different stories that can be shared. I don't do every interview that's come my way... I've turned down many.. though I've said yes to just as many.
It takes certain questions on how they ask and what they're asking about when I say yes or not, what I don't want to say yes too is junk like "Who were the bullies in your school day, so we can get them on the show to say sorry to you" I grew up a long time ago, as did they... what happened was like 10 to 15 years ago... I don't care if they're sorry or not, but it's done... it's over... it may have helped shape me up to who I am now... but that doesn't mean I want them to be sorry, or that I will forgive them... (Would you want to see the person who threw you in front of a car just cause their friends wanted them to?)
I put this in General cause it's kind of relates to our recent topics about the up coming Lions Gate DVD to the other Doc about the TMNT. Both of which is great, cause they're covering fans and why people like them the way they do. Though I've heard that it hasn't been as easy as one would think to get fans to agree to this, and I've heard some of those fans views. Which got me curious... how many of us here would let camera crews come over (For TMNT or some other story)?
Please do share your reasons for yes or no...

I'd have no problem with it, so long as the interview topics are kept away from my personal life and my home location is kept out of it(ie: no naming my city or showing my apartment number). They'd also have to understand I live in a small apartment. I can clean, but most of any interviews conducted would have to be in my living room as that's a nice, big area. My bedroom's all right, but with my bed and desk, it's probably only big enough for me, the interviewer, and one cameraman if we're lucky. If space isn't a problem and they respect my privacy in terms of my personal life, doesn't bother me in the least. I don't mind interviews at all. Just stay out of hubby's room(it's a warzone! ) and personal stuff and we're all good.

While I like the idea of getting involved with the current documentaries, but the idea of letting people into my home bothers me. I don't have the type of shrines that most people have for their stuff, heck-- my entire house is the size of some people's first floor. Very small house, a lot of medical equipment for taking care of my mom... Besides, there's much more beautiful places in Dover that I could show to them...

HEY! hahaha this is a funny question for me to answer yes to because I am the TV crew!! hahaha Well know THIS (big boomy voice): If any of you (other than Mikey, I've been there already) are interested in being interviewed! You SHOULD! send me an email about yourself. In response to concerns, we actually sign an agreement stating in there that both you let us show your story and likeness on screen and we don't disclose confidential information such as address and location. YOU DON'T HAVE TO CLEAN hahaha its all cool we love natural real stories and people BUT if you are more comfortable with a clean place then we want that as well! Please send me your stories! We want to hear from you, this documentary is for the fans, but we need the fans to get involved: www.turtledoc.comThanks YO

Well I can't say No. Sabrina spent the night and helped clean the house the day before Fanatical came over!! The house hasn't been clean since. It was like...spotless.

Sure, I guess so. No, it's not a shrine. But yes, there's stuff.....and, if the equipment you bring doesn't get all weirded out by whatever it is that's here that interferes with mine sometimes .....sure, why not?

Yeah size of a place could be a problem with a full TV crew, esp if they travel like the folks from Totally Obsessed did... my room was turned into a studio, you could turn or walk anywhere without bumping into someone or something... which is why we did the Sewer loft for when the other show came... so that there's some where for people to go, since they also wanted a party there as well as the crew.
Though the last two interviewers that came where small... one was a one man crew (heh even posted in this topic) and the other was two people. So sometimes the size of the crew isn't really big so it's easy even with a small place, but knowing the size of the crew before the interview takes place doesn't happen often so you don't know to except a big or a small crew... or how much stuff they're bringing with. If you got a small place and would like to be interviewed, maybe you and inquire about their crew and stuff before they come.
For me VH1 had the biggest crew and the most stuff... my front yard had a lot of stuff just spaced out acrossed it while they were doing their interviews... I'll have to dig up some pictures to share.

Yeah, I guess if I really wanted to, we could work things out with the crew. I'm just not much for having my face on camera - prefer being behind it, *g*
Would love to see pics, Mikey!

Mmmm, *in* my house? No, gotta say I wouldn't want a tv crew big or small there. It's my personal sanctuary and with my son I don't think it'd be fair to him to shift his comfort zone for a bunch of strangers. I'd rather go to a local park, somewhere neutral so I don't feel like my space is being invaded and so that I'm a little more comfortable. But y'know, that's just me. I likes my private life.

Probably not, no? I wouldn't mind people filming my house, but to actually talk to people while in my house? There's just something about that, that makes me feel nervous. Can't explain it.

I have more of a BSB shrine, than TMNT, but I'd let people come interview me. I'd just shut all the doors to the rooms I don't want for anybody to see, & then make sure my TMNT collection [or BSB, whatever the case may be] is out where it can be seen - lol.
~Lenni~
P.S. I'd hafta kick the dog outside though, he's too friendly & nosy-lol. And, he might try to attack my action figures - haha. He once tried to chew my big Donatello whom I'd sat next to him.

It might be pretty cool. I have never done it. I got a pretty cool collection of TMNT. Including the Konami Coin ops. TMNT in Time, TMNT Pinball Machine, and TMNT arcade. As well as a massive comic collection, figures carded and uncarded, posters, plushees, clothes, accessories, masks, the list goes on and on. I just haven't been too public about it. Kinda nervous. I do however proclaim my fandom!
