If it was in a bigger city, then I could go without anyone but myself(and obviously Earl

). Ninjara, you're right. It doesn't take much in these itty bitty towns to get gossipped about and I'm already enough of an outcast in my hometown to deal with one more thing on top of it all. Don't get me wrong, I do love my hometown, but the only thing I don't like is how appearances are everything. And everyone else but me seems to care about that, so hence why I'm an oddball.
If there were events in the Twin Cities area or even St. Cloud, I'd totally go. Just not in my tiny hometown(lol, not that a lot of cool things happen around here...it's pretty quiet). Other people might go, but there's a difference between going to be a fan and going to make fun of fans and unfortunately, I live in a town full of the latter.
And yes, I do take heart. Honestly, right before I joined the list(waaaay back when it was an email list! Long time! ;P), I really thought I was the only TMNT fan left on the planet. Then I find Ivey's email on Shredder's page, mail her, and the rest is history. It makes me feel tons better to know there are other fans out there, some older than me, some younger. But without others there, I still can't walk out in the tiny town I live in and go to an event knowing that most people are there to make fun, not enjoy.
Which is sad, really. If anything were to happen in the Cities, I'd make time to go. Money's unfortunately too tight for me to go anywhere out of state right now, but Minneapolis is only 3 hour drive for me and I know all the good hotels up that way, so I can easy make events in that direction.
