Katsucon 2006

Hey everyone! This isn't really *that* big of a deal, but just thought I'd bring it up....

Katsucon is coming soon! It's going to be FEBRUARY 17 - 19th, 2006 in THE OMNI SHOREHAM HOTEL in WASHINGTON, D.C.

Now last year (or this past Katsu...whatever) was my first time going to this con, and it was only cuz my friend told me "OMG the voice of DEAN VENTURE is going to be there!" so I hopped my butt into her friend's already tightly full car and tagged along (ending up sharing a bed with her and some boy I didn't even know til then lol) and the only VA's I cared about seeing at the time were Mike and Richard Cox who does InuYasha...and right now their VA list doesn't mention any TMNT peoples, but I dunno...do they normally all come to this one, or just Mike Sinterniklaas? Maybe some of you people who go to this one normally will know....like maybe Kaz or Blue...

And lets keep this on the down low...I heard there were some issues with Mike and Katsucon and stuff that effected his not coming to Anime Next so people were telling me he wouldn't be coming to Katsu this year, but I talked to him about it at Anime Vegas and he told me he had just reciently gotten a call about being invited and he was going to get back to them about it soon, and assured me he would be coming. Several times. And even called out to me as I was leaving the con to go home my last day, "See you at Katsucon, right?" So, unless something happens between now and then, he'll prolly be there...though they haven't confirmed him as a guest yet. *shrugs* I don't know about the other TMNT people though, do they usually come? Like I said this will only be my second time going heh...

Anyone else gonna be coming?

I probably won't be attending Katsu this year.... it cost A LOT and I want to go ot Otakon so I have to silm down on a few cons....


As for guests my best advice for you is if you want people invited, e-mail the con staff and post on there message boards... that how we usually pester them into inviting people...

Oh too bad, I was hoping to see you there  So like I said, this is only my second year...and I know sometimes there are certian cons that have guests that come like every year, so I was just asking, does the turtle gang usually go to Katsu or no? I'm 90% sure I'm going despite this, just to get to talk to Mike again heh    The chairman says he won't post that people are coming until they have actually confirmed they are coming, to avoid problems of people canceling or not showing u when it was said they were coming and angry fans and whatnot. I just wanted to know if the turtle gang usually comes, or if I should suggest them for future Katsucons.

I won't be coming this year either. The only reason I went last year was to meet up with my friend Blue. However, I don't think Mike's going this year..I don't see him on the list and I already met Richard Cox so.

Usually its been only Mike that goes....

But if you drop the con staff a few e-mails and some of the other Turtle voice actors are free you may be able to get more people as most voice actors love doing conventions!

Katsucon is usually really small and last year it sucked with the rooms for the panels..I doubt MANY actors will be going. I am trying to get a lot of TMNT actors invited to AN. I asked them to invite Mike, Wayne, Sam, John, and Ed. I really would like Marc to come back with Veronica. Then we can tell him what she said about April and casey LOL

It's prolly too late to ask for other TMNT guests to come to Katsu this year, but I can suggest them for next year. As for Mike, he told me he would be there several times before I left Vegas, so he should be coming...unless his plans have changed. Mr. Richard Kim (chairman) said they were still waiting for some guest to get back to them, Mike might be one of them. I hope he comes heh. If not I'll prolly still go, I thought it was a fun con last year, even though it WAS kinda disorganized...I think they were doing some construction in one fo the hotels last time...but it's at a different hotel this time I think. Hopefully it will be better this time. Guess I won't see any of you there though, bummer. Oh well...there's always Anime Next!

Mike Sinterniklaas *IS* indeed on the list of guests attending! Yay! My Pre Reg form and check are in the mail box to be mailed tomorrow! Cuz for some reason....they don't have the option of pre reg online....which is kinda strange, cuz wouldn't it be easier that way? Hmm...oh well.

Anyway yeah, I've got my room covered (though I still have to pay my friend for it lol) and pre preg will be covered once the mail goes out, so I'm ready to go! I can't wait to see Mike again, and some other interesting guest on the list (MC Chris from Sea Lab and Aqua Teen lol) and hopefully see some of you all there too! Huzzah! ^-^

Man I really want to go to this event, I think I might... and I think I even got most of the plan worked out besides for a place to stay.  Though I'm trying to figure out where to stay, may just stay most of the time at the convention and crash in my car if need be.  Maybe right after this event I could drive to NJ to hang out with Pichu.

I'll let ya guys know if I go or not.

Ok here's the news, tomorrow I'm sending out a pre pay for this convention.  Only thing I don't have is a place to stay, though I think I'll either crash in my car or the lobby of where ever this place is.   I can't afford a room, that's for sure.  After I leave this con I'll be driving straight over to Pichu's place.  So I'll be away from home for 13 days in Febuary.

I'll still get to a computer when ever I can.  I'm sure Pichu will let me play at her computer every now and than   Though this is the news.

I would totally let you stay with me....although it isn't really up to me ;-; See, I'm staying with a co-worker of my friends...I'm lucky that he's letting me tag along, being this is going to be like the second time I've ever met him lol (last year was worse, it was only the first time I had ever met him and I had decided to go like 2 days before the con....the room was HORRIBLY cramped with 4 boys, my friend and me, and it was a room meant for 3 people tops XD) I'm sorry buddy ;-; I can ask if you can stop by and hang out though, maybe take a nap or something, but I don't think he'll be up to you spending the night. I can ask and let you know though. Awww I feel so baaaaad. ;-;

But hey, I'll see you there and we can hang out and stuffs! ^-^

Oh! I'm thinking about getting a signature book like you had...ya know, the one that ran outta room and Mike signed on my page from Anime Next? Yeah I'm prolly gonna buy a cool journal for just such a thing!

I'm affraid things are a bit tighter than I realized.  I may not be able to make this trip because of money.  Though trust me when I say I'll keep trying, I really want to go.   Going to sell stuff on ebay to raise money.

Ok being the determined twit I can be, I am going to do this convention.  I have worked around with my bills... and the only thing I'm questioning now is the gas money.  I may have $83 to leave with, but $50 of it will be going towards my pass which only gives me $33 towards gas.  My mom is going to see if she can let me keep my hundred that week, which will make it so I have $133.    I think this will happen.

I am 89% sure that I am going to be at this convention.  I'm going to start packing soon for both trips and deviding on how things go in my car, half for the NJ part of the trip and half for the Washington DC part.  

Money will be tight, but the memories are worth it.
