Going ahead to start a review thread for the con. Not much to report at the moment. Just got my badge and headed back here to hotel for some breakfast.

No panels starting until around 2ish where there is a "Don't You See The Man is Kappa Mikey?" panel at 2. Now I have not heard yet for certain if Mike is here, but it wouldn't make sense to have a Kappa Mikey panel if he wasn't since he's the main star of the show. Right? Also, the con staff and I think the guests too are staying in my hotel.

I'll update when I can.  Happy/Smile

First day report: Not a lot happening. In fact, looking at the schedule for this weekend, it's not at all like the past two years I've attended. It's been trimmed down it seems. That kind of sucks because why move to a new location that is supposed to bigger to house this stuff if they don't have the same amount of activities? That doesn't make much sense.

There was a Ninja Turtles panel added as like a last minute thing and I do mean last minute because it was at 9 tonight. I just returned from it only half an hour ago and I learned something interesting. I have some kind of bad news to report. I talked to Wayne to ask what was going on with Mike S because he wasn't coming. He said he'd moved to L.A.; pretty much permanently. Surprised He said he hasn't seen him in a long time.

He said Mike still has the studio in New York, but he's no longer living there. It probably explains his con behavior of late, Crittle.

I am kind of in a shock here. Just... wow. That's all I can say.

I know exactly how you feel Mystic. I read that and now have a knot in my stomache, I must admit. I mean, it was prolly best for Mike if that's where alot of his work has been based as of late, but still...he was always my New York City guy...I mean, it is NYAV Post, New York audio/video post production, after all...even though I know he had some studios in LA now. Plus him being there always just added to the excitement of coming to visit my "city of dreams" every time I could, and now...I dunno if it'll still feel the same. I guess I'm making more of a big deal out of this then I should, but...I dunno. It's just...like you said....wow.... Neutral

Yeah, I understand.

Today isn't going to be much for me. I'm afraid I'll be leaving sooner than later. There are no panels today or tomorrow that I'm interested in attending.

This year has been kind of a disappointment and finding that news out about Mike put a further damper on it. However, I wouldn't say the con was a complete waste. The highlights were the Kappa Mikey panel and the Ninja Turtles panel. It was nice to see Wayne, Mike P, and Tom again, and I was able to give them their gifts I brought at least. I don't know when I'll get to see Mike S again to give him his gift. I had prepared to ask Wayne to pass it along with a small note, but then I found out the other. So... yeah.

I don't think I'll do AN anymore. Not from the way this con has gone last year with not inviting anyone from the Turtles and then this year while a few were invited, it was slim pickings for panels, focusing more on cosplay than anything else. I mean, they didn't even have a session scheduled for autographs except for today with the handful of guests that actually came.

However, I had tons of fun touring NYC and hanging out with Amicitia. Happy/Smile That was definitely worthwhile. It was the best part of this trip.

Well, I'm home and I'm exhausted. A day and a half's worth of driving, even with a stop-over, is a long way. I still feel like I'm on the interstate.

Well, I'm glad you had some fun even if it wasn't as fun as you thought it would be.
