It was great meeting ya TTM (TurtleTitanMusician Wink )!

I had a full day of heat and mist tents.  Really our adventure started the day before where we drove from the Texas welcome center on I 10 all the way up here, taking the long rout so that we got to ride a ferry, go to Houston, stop in San Antonio and than drive to Dallas getting to the area around 5am.  First I went straight to the city, figureing we could stay in the parking Garage after parking and just leave the car there for the weekend... save on gas that way.  Oh no, that's not how it worked.  The roof rack on the bug made it so we were to tall for the parking Garage, a problem I've never had before.

So we went and parked in an open lot, but I realized it wasn't that close to the event as I looked over three different maps trying to place everything.  Not an easy task.  So I went to leave this lot, only to find the machine wasn't working.  Some begger guy came up to try and help, I kept trying to tell him we'll get out on our own... when we finally did get the gate open by calling security, the begger guy tried to get my $5 from me.  Which I refused to hand over, I gave him some coins.. he didn't seem happy about that.

So we drove about 15 minutes out of town to park at a Wal-Mart for a few hours than drove back in the morning and found an open lot to park.  We parked and than had to search for the train station since TTM wanted to meet there.  He mentioned it was a few blocks from the location of the Turtle Bus but not what direction to go, so we had to ask a handful of people where to go.  Once we finally found where it was, he was already walking towards us.  So we met up and walked to the Turtle Bus, where he was able to take pictures of everything and meet the crew running the bus.

We realized right away that the heat down here was going to be an issue, they had mist tents where they were spraying water with fans.  They had places giveing away ice coffee, they had lots of places selling ice cream and such.  But the one thing that was not right near the Turtle bus was shade... the only shade they had was that of their own doing which wasn't much.  Michaelangelo would be out for 10 minutes at a time, if that.  It was just too hot and everyone wanted him to step out of the shade for pictures, which was torture to see.

The video game is now changed out on the bus, they have a demo version of Smash Brothers up for us to play.  So I got to play against the Turtle Bus driver, Mike... as he was Raphael and I was Michelangelo.  I won Wink  We both laughed about how we got to learn the controls.  We're not working with a Wii, when the other game was on the XBox 360.  I only played the game once that day, but watched many others play it.

Miki wanted to check out the art fair so I caught up with her for a little bit as we bought some flavored ice drink (Tiger Blood) and found a shaded area to sit down.  Both of us realizing just how bad this day was going to be on us.  When I went back to the bus, TTM was still there so we talked a little bit more.  Michelangelo came out and TTM got to have his pictures taken.

Well closing up to head back for today, I'll do more of a Saturday review very soon (since I did have a surprise friend meet up that happened later, I do have more to say Wink )

Here are the pics!  It took me hours to figure it out.  But here they are!

Mikey playing air tympani!  How cool is that?

A TMNT fan from Denton, TX, sporting the 2K3 look.

Mikey drumming again.

Mikey & me posing.  Yes, that's the same bandana I had from the Dallas Zoo.

The Shell-A-Bration bus stops in Downtown Dallas.

Thumbs up, dudes!

Our hostess in front of the van.

Now it's my turn.

Also before I left to go to Pearl station to play bingo (& lost), I met the guy behing the Mikey costume.  We talked & he told me (believe it or not) he really does play drums & tympani when he was in high school!  Cool coincidence!

Dude, I was there on Sunday and I'm the one who bought Michelle that water because everyone there was probably burning. Growing up in Texas was hard as a kid so I know how they feel with the heat. Thank od they came in June cause if it was July, it would probably be 103 and it would be miserable. So anyways, I hope they upload the photos on the website soon, I'm the guy who was wearing those big aviators and a backwards white Billabong hat. Mikey has been my 2nd favorite turtle next to Raphael because I'm so much like him. Anyways for those who r wondering my screen name, I'm a huge Mudvayne fan and this is an awesome name that the lead singer calls himself so yeah I stole his idea but who cares. TMNT were awesome in Dallas. Come back soon!

Hey all, picking up a little on where I left off...

Miki walked around the art fair a bit more and found something else we both came to enjoy, free ice coffee.  I can't say how many times we went to that booth for ice coffee.  If I wasn't at the Bus that's where I was.  Of course there was also the mist tent.

The heat made the day drag on, TTM didn't get to stay all day with us as he had to go for Bingo, so after Michelangelo came out for his second set of pictures he said his good byes to us.  Miki and I though were going to stick it out... so we walked back to the bug and got our folding chairs out... bringing them over we sat them down in one of the few places where there was no sun... it was a small area against a wall where I feared a door would open and hit me.  We weren't there long before more TMNT fans showed up.

This wasn't just any fans, this was Mikey from Mikey's TMNT Forums.  I've known him for years, but we never met in person before.  We greeted each other and than just talked... and talked... and talked... and talked... we took them to the bug where I showed them some of the stuff that I brought like Michaelangelo's combat coldcuts.  It was really awesome getting to meet him.  He had a friend with him as well, who was talking with us.  Miki and I enjoyed this time, though he couldn't stay long either and went on his way.

By this time, Miki and I realized the heat was really getting to us so when we went back we talked to the guys at the bus finding out what time they were packing up.  Than we went for a walk, going over to one of the Museums, this was the Japanese Museum in the area.  Part of the events was that Museums were free, so we walked in and checked it out.  Enjoying the AC unit.  On the second floor Miki and I found a stop motion movie in which we sat down and watched.  It was really interesting following a munk that was being chased and killed by a Dragon girl, we don't know the name of it... but it was enjoyable.

Realizing the time I headed down stairs... while down here the workers realized just how bad off Miki was, and offered her a cold drink realizing that she's getting heat stroke.  So we rested a little longer, went out and got our free ice coffee than went back and said our good bye to the guys for the day as they packed up the bus.

They so needed to get out of the heat.. so we were glad they're getting some rest.

- Next post here from me should be about Sunday of the event.

While visiting with our hostess, I showed her my lottery ticket for a game called Cash Five.  A game where you pick 5 balls from 1-37, where you get @ least $2 for 2 right or an average of $25K for all 5, played daily except Sunday.

Once in awhile, I have themes.  For that drawing, I played 4-12-13-18-22.  Using the alphabet/number code, it translate to this... 4=Don, 12=Leo, 13=Mikey, 18-Raph & 22=Venus.  That night's drawing was a bomb, only matching Leo.

While @ CityArts, the only thing I had to eat was a blue bubblegum snow cone for $2.  I discovered a new band called The Hollow Empire, from near Fort Worth.  Got a demo CD from them.  Check them out @...

http://thehollowempire.com (their MySpace page).

The band liked my Leo bandana.

After Karate Demo

Hanging out at the bus with a TMNT Ice Cream bought at the Art Fair.

Got a few pictures at the bus with this Ice cream.

Another shot of the bus.

These are some TMNT fans that knew me from "Totally Obsessed".  They had an image of me on a cell phone to ask if that was me.

That's all the Dallas photos I'm going to post here.
