It was great meeting ya TTM (TurtleTitanMusician

)!
I had a full day of heat and mist tents. Really our adventure started the day before where we drove from the Texas welcome center on I 10 all the way up here, taking the long rout so that we got to ride a ferry, go to Houston, stop in San Antonio and than drive to Dallas getting to the area around 5am. First I went straight to the city, figureing we could stay in the parking Garage after parking and just leave the car there for the weekend... save on gas that way. Oh no, that's not how it worked. The roof rack on the bug made it so we were to tall for the parking Garage, a problem I've never had before.
So we went and parked in an open lot, but I realized it wasn't that close to the event as I looked over three different maps trying to place everything. Not an easy task. So I went to leave this lot, only to find the machine wasn't working. Some begger guy came up to try and help, I kept trying to tell him we'll get out on our own... when we finally did get the gate open by calling security, the begger guy tried to get my $5 from me. Which I refused to hand over, I gave him some coins.. he didn't seem happy about that.
So we drove about 15 minutes out of town to park at a Wal-Mart for a few hours than drove back in the morning and found an open lot to park. We parked and than had to search for the train station since TTM wanted to meet there. He mentioned it was a few blocks from the location of the Turtle Bus but not what direction to go, so we had to ask a handful of people where to go. Once we finally found where it was, he was already walking towards us. So we met up and walked to the Turtle Bus, where he was able to take pictures of everything and meet the crew running the bus.
We realized right away that the heat down here was going to be an issue, they had mist tents where they were spraying water with fans. They had places giveing away ice coffee, they had lots of places selling ice cream and such. But the one thing that was not right near the Turtle bus was shade... the only shade they had was that of their own doing which wasn't much. Michaelangelo would be out for 10 minutes at a time, if that. It was just too hot and everyone wanted him to step out of the shade for pictures, which was torture to see.
The video game is now changed out on the bus, they have a demo version of Smash Brothers up for us to play. So I got to play against the Turtle Bus driver, Mike... as he was Raphael and I was Michelangelo. I won

We both laughed about how we got to learn the controls. We're not working with a Wii, when the other game was on the XBox 360. I only played the game once that day, but watched many others play it.
Miki wanted to check out the art fair so I caught up with her for a little bit as we bought some flavored ice drink (Tiger Blood) and found a shaded area to sit down. Both of us realizing just how bad this day was going to be on us. When I went back to the bus, TTM was still there so we talked a little bit more. Michelangelo came out and TTM got to have his pictures taken.
Well closing up to head back for today, I'll do more of a Saturday review very soon (since I did have a surprise friend meet up that happened later, I do have more to say

)
