While I agree that this isn't a great ending, I like it more than "Weddings Bells and Bytes" as a ending.

I agree that "Turtles Forever" is better as a story (and even has a semblance of plot logic), but I still say it's worse as an ending.

"Wedding Bells" makes me very confused about what happened before, to get all the characters to that point, but it doesn't really leave me wondering about what happens after. Certainly more stories could be told, but the episode closes several plot lines and so seems like a logical stopping point.

Also, I would say that Utrom Shredder was pretty well defeated even before "Turtles Forever". In four seasons he didn't manage to come back from the ice asteroid. He did merge his saved consciousness with Viral to become Cyber Shredder, but it looked to me like that incarnation was beaten in "Wedding Bells". So while it was fun to see him again, it didn't really feel necessary.

Just my two cents...

This was SUCH a sweet treat!! I laughed, laughed, laughed, squee'd, and enjoyed every minute of it. My favorite parts: "AAAAAAAAAWESOME!" (with the multi-Turtle dimensions) and OT/NT turtles throwing trash at the Comic Shredder, LMAO!! That was hilarious.

Really great send-off. It all comes back around again. So long, Turtles. See you on the next adventure!

Man ! It  was awesome  Love

I enjoyed it a lot

Did anyone see Nightwatcher when TMNT(2007) was shown

I give it a 11/12

Btw where was Kevin and Peter ?

At the very end, the voices discussing the comic book progress were the voices of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.  Made it all the more bittersweet, as far as I'm concerned.

Heh I just seemed disappointed all around with the wedding episode... *shrugs* maybe that was just me, at least with "Turtles Forever" it leaves me feeling all warm in side.  I don't run around grabbing people say "Here watch this wedding episode, it's the last episode!  It's great!  Look at all these characters!  Check out this story"  In fact I would cringe when thinking about it.  I felt there was way too much missing with it.  And was sick thinking that could be the end of the series.

"Turtles Forever" just has so much greatness to it.  I can watch it over and over again.  And going up showing that it was all a comic to begin with at the end of it... was just... yeah...  a very nice and fitting touch.  Loved it.

Maybe a fan comic could pick up where the 4Kids Turtles go from there.  Hun being a much bigger villain wanting revenge on the Turtles and looking for a cure to be human again.  The Turtles looking for a new home and while doing so staying with April & Casey at their place.  heh could be a fun fan comic.

It leaves us up to think of where things could go, but to know that they have many more adventures to come.

So what did everyone think of:
The images of different Turtles?

The side characters from the original series, like the lady with the gun in the first episode, being in the back ground shots?

Seeing Bebop and Rocksteady's as human walking around?

The OS Turtles reaction with the 4Kid Turtles called Splinter Father?

Karai finding the Technodrome?  (In the TV sversion this is cut, othe full version tells how she found it.)

Shredder and Krang's personalities towards each other?

Shredder and Krang's reaction to Utrom Shredder?

The OS Turtles being so open about what the Mutagen was and calling it ooze? (If I recall correctly they didn't really call it ooze in the original series).

The lack of the Next Mutation and Tour Turtles in the pictures of all the different areas of Turtles?

Heh there's just so many topics on this movie, I just know one thing...

I Want the DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been rewatching it on youtube-- and I still miss the scenes they trimmed.  Karai had a whole story of how she tracked them down (how she knew where the Technodrome was)-- and some of the joking around was trimmed (so Mike's growing tired of their humor seems rushed-- in the untrimmed version he joined in more).  And I REALLY miss Krang's line to Bebop and Rocksteady!

I loved everything about the film.  I was never a follower of the OT, so the voices (well, except Leonardo's) didn't bother me.   Whomever voiced Raph did a passable job of imitating Rob Paulson's voice (funny-- the voice actor was doing an impression of the voice actor!!), so I was able to watch it without feeling that something was "different".  I ESPECIALLY LOVED the Mirage Turtles-- for a moment I was convinced that the same actor was doing all four voices (which made sense to me, as they all looked exactly alike, and when I'm reading the old comics I'm not always sure who is talking!)-- and all the inside jokes (that weren't trimmed) made it just that much more enjoyable!

"Wedding Bells and Bytes" would have been a much better episode had it been multi-parted-- at the very least THREE episodes.  20 minutes is too rushed.  They gave all the voice actors credit, but they didn't speak!

Karai was totally left out of the last season, and who the heck was Khan?  I kept waiting for that little storyline to become clear, but alas, it was not to be.

I heard Funimation has dropped the turtles?  But I sincerely hope that this DVD DOES come out!  It would be a crime to not release it.

Argh... y'know, I want to like "Turtles Forever" better as an ending, because it's so much the better story, but I just can't.

I keep thinking about what each set of Turtles is going back to...

~The New Toon Turtles. They clearly came from the very end of their own continuity, so in that sense their future was already uncertain. But over the course of the movie they go from a good situation in their own universe, to a bad one. I can't be satisfied with that as an ending.

~The Old Toon Turtles. This one was the hardest to pin down. I want to say they came from early in their own continuity, because I'm pretty sure the street with all the ninja businesses is from the first episode. But these Turtles are clearly already in the habit of battling the Technodrome and saving April, so it must be later in the timeline. Overall it's hard to say when exactly they're from. But then, time never meant very much in the Old Toon, so maybe it doesn't matter. I'm not too worried about what future these characters are going back to.

~Comic Turtles. This one was the strangest for me. It was very clear that these Turtles were from early in the first issue of the comics. They seemed the most "constrained", using iconic images from the comic, and even using some of the same dialogue. Also, at the end they return to the famous pose from the first issue cover. And you know exactly what their future is going to be. Which made the whole thing seem very "frozen", or deterministic, or something. But the point is that if I want to know what happens next to these Turtles, I can go read the comics.

So, yeah, just the way the NT characters are left hanging, bothers me a lot. And makes me want fanwork.  Happy/Smile

By the way - who did do the voices for the comic and OT characters? I haven't been able to find that info.

Union and none union... the original staff was all union... 4Kids is none Union.

Therefore we didn't get our original Voice Actors back.

RGKameko :  The voices at the end WERE Eastman and Laird-- they recorded the dialogue specially for the show-- but let's face it, they don't quite look like they did back in the day. LOL

It was? Oh wow! Haha guess your right! XD
I guess it just would have been nice if it was really them from the shoulders down. Just knowing it's someone else kinda bugs me. -w-;;

I thought Mirage Leo was voiced by Jason Griffith, Usagi's VA. That is what I have been hearing everyone say. I think I vaguely hear too Usagi in his voice, although deeper, especially when he says "What is this?"

You know, I realized things we haven't got to discuss about this movie...

1.  Deaths -

They kill!  Splinter killed the Mutant dog in the movie!   I mean... that was really a death right there... and got away with it by using green goo instead of blood!  I am so surprised they got away with that!  That mutant was a member of the Purple Dragons, originally human... and now... he's dead...

I think it's cool that they got away with that.  I mean, how often did we get to see on screen deaths before in Turtles?  Not to often... off screen happened in the first episode with that purple Dragon member who went to see the Shredder.  But on screen... sure Shredder gets beheaded in an episode (the person who allowed that got fired from her job)  though he didn't really die, since the body was a robot.

Shredder also died in this - sure they said he'd come back, but come on... this time he didn't have a teleporter right there... Karai is not going to go and clone him again, and he's not frozen on some world where he can just be brought back.  Shredder is dead this time.  I feel like they had to say that line to get it approved for TV.

2.  The way the Robot Bodies worked!

Shredder's body was a mix of tech, which could be used to explain this... but the chip used to grow big was Krang's tech...  when Krang's body grows big, Krang remains in the stomach and grows as well.  When Shredder's body grew big, he some how got into the head of the robot body and remained small.  I'm going to chop that one up to the tech that he added.   Just a difference I noticed between the two that we haven't discussed.

3.  How did Krang get back small?

Wouldn't Krang need his body to change size?  His body remained big, while he was back small and OT Shredder was carrying him around.  That was kind of funny watching OT Shredder run at the 4K Shredder as if going into battle, while holding Krang.  Was he going to use Krang as his weapon? hehehe  Sadly we didn't really get to see OT Shredder fight... just charge in... they mainly focused on the three sets of Turtles.   Than after the battle is done, Krang is back in his body and it's small again.
