Hi, everyone, The web site, PetitionOnline, told me I should spread the word, so that's what I'm doing. In early November, I discovered my favorite San Diego tour, Ghosts & Gravestones, closed its door for good. Instead of doing nothing, I've decided to create a petition to gather as many signatures as possible to bring it back. The petition is in NO way an attack on the company, Old Town Trolley Tours of San Diego. It is only meant for a signature to say yes, you want the tour up and running. I'm even accepting signatures from those who never got to take it, but were interested in it if they ever came to San Diego. Anyway, here's the LINK to it. Thank you in advance!

I signed it. I'm all for keeping historic locations and tours remaining open to the public. Without them some people will never know what amazing history some places have.

Shoot, does that mean they're shutting down the Boston tour as well, or just the San Diego one?

The link works for me. The first one did too, so i don't know why it's not working except that it might be a browser thing or something.

I have an update about the tour. Today, I was down by Horton Plaza with my mom and two friends. I walked by a booth for Old Town Trolley Tours and decided to talk to the guy there. I brought up G&G (of course), and he said, yeah, they cancelled the tour because of low ticket sales. I had to ask if it was gone for good, to which he quickly, said, "No, I don't think so! It'll probably reopen during next summer up until October when it gets closer to Halloween again." I had to tell him about the email I sent to my tour guide and how he's now looking for a new job. He couldn't say anything to that and we had to leave. Later on, Mom and I ended up in Seaport Village where I talked to a guy at a magic shop. He, too, feels that the tour will be back next year. I don't know, the way it sounded to me, it's permanently gone!

Hey, everyone, I'm sorry if you're all sick of this subject by now, but I just wanted to mention that the news made it to my local paper, the San Diego Union Tribune! I got in contact with Columnist, Diane Bell, and she did a small interview with me! The article was in the December 3rd issue. It was short, but to the point:
Goodbye to 'Ghosts'
Old Town Trolley Tours has laid its once-popular Ghosts & Gravestones tour to rest. After six years, operators dropped the tour, which highlighted area cemeteries and stopped at three reportedly "haunted" houses, where costumed characters of a bygone era greeted visitors. Lorin Stewart, the firm's general manager, says interest in the nightly sojourn had tapered off to the extent that, on some evenings, no tickets were sold.
Sabrina Marie Johnson is such a fan of the tour that she is circulating a petition to bring it back. She has over 30 signatures.
The Old Town Trolley's recorded message still carries a promo for "Ghosts & Gravestones," but Stewart says it's only because they are awaiting a replacement tape. He has no plans to resurrect "Ghosts."
Jeez, I feel like whenever I read something from the paper, it's official and no longer a rumor. And I wish she didn't use all three of my names! Eesh. Maybe I shouldn't have typed it that way in my email.
Oh, and Ivey, tell Miki I said thank you for signing my petition! It's over 40 now!

Any news on anything with this? Did you get a lot of signatures on the petition? I'm still sorry that this is gone, I would of liked to have gone on it, with how much you talked about it. The Boston one was a BLAST!
