Man for me this all started on Thursday, getting ready to go.  I wanted to head out by 3 or 4 pm, so in the morning I went out with my mom for a bit and did some errans.  I came home, and finshed packing up a bit than had to run out with my sister, it was still before noon so I thought I'd get back to the house by at least 2pm to take my bath and head out.   No such luck, I got back to the house after 4pm because we ended up having to drive all over the place just to find a Sam club that had what I wanted.  After driving around the world I got us each something to eat than took her home.  Once I got home I took my bath, no way I was hitting the road without doing that first.  Than came the drive.  I got on the road sometime around 5:45-6pm and basically drove all the way through with only like 3 stops... besides for stopping for gas which was another 3 stops.  This was the fastest I ever made it out here, at parking outside at 5am Friday morning.

Now I figured I'd get some sleep in the car, though the neighbor has one of those lights that come on to a sensor... and well it kept shinning right in my car at me.  So I didn't really get to sleep.  I didn't want to wake anyone up, so I waited in the car till I saw life inside the house.   After seeing life inside I tried calling a few times to see if Pichu was awake, though no answer.  Around 7:30am  I didn't feel as bad about the idea of waking her up, so I went up and knocked.  Her mom answered the door, and sure enough she was asleep.  Of course she wasn't excepting me until around 9pm at night so it kind of surprised her.

Animedir was over, (I met her at Anime Vegas when I met Pichu).  So they got up and started moving around, we went to BK for breakfast.  It was nice getting a chance to hang out before heading out.  I wasn't even really tired.  After BK we came back to Pichu's house and watched some of the video from Anime Next 2003.   Though Animedir had to go to the doctors so we took her there and dropped her off.   Than came back to Pichu's house again this time waiting for Catman to show up, since he was giving me a ride to the train station.

While waiting for him I got to meet all of Pichu's pets.  She's got two birds, one of which reminds me of some of the birds I had in the past and by the brightness of the feathers I think he's a boy.   He's figure trained and seems to like being whisled too.  The other one I haven't gottan to know to well, though it's talking to me right now.    She's also got two cats, one is very shy so I've only seen it a few times.  Though Tigger is a friendly cat.  He lets me pet him, and I been playing with him a bit.  Happy/Smile

When Catman got here, Pichu and I had to part ways since she had to go to work.   Catman gave me a ride to the train station and told me where to go from there, and I said bye to him and went on my way.  I learned an important lesson... sprint phones do not work in the subways here.  I was on the phone with Fae when it cut me off, I called her back when I got back into the city and she was on the phone with me as I looked for the Penn Plaza (which is when I learned there's more than one building with that name on it out here).   Once I found the right place, I said bye to Fae and got my ticket into the covention.

Now the first so many people got Heavy Metal toys here, first they went to give me Kerrie... though I stopped a worker and asked if they had any Julie's left and they only had one and gave it to me instead.  So I was happy, I got a Julie toy Happy/Smile  Than I went and started looking around.  My search was for Scott, any 4Kids people, or Dave Sims  First bit of searching... nothing people were still setting up and the guest were being switched all around.  The place seemed more like a mess than a convention.  Infact I was disappointed with the set up.   I found the actor area with the Harry Potter people (talked to one of them asking him about the movie a little), Peter Tork is up there so I kind of said a small hi to him since he watched me walk by, than I went over and found the Artist alley area.  Which is on the other side of the floor... while walking through there I found a friend of mine from Motor City Comic Con and stopped talking to him for a bit.

While talking to him, they sat Dave Sims right next to him!   So that was kind of cool, but not too long after Dave sat down he was moved to the other side of the floor closer to where the stars are.  So I made sure to take note of where he was being moved too.  Than I walked around a little bit.  Some girls stopped me and asked to interview me... kind of surprised me, seem to get that at Cons a bit, but before it was because I ran a booth at the con.  I talked with the girls and a guy over heard the interview and moved in and sold me some TMNT pins, but the deal was I would buy the pins so I could have the board they were on which was a TMNT board.   So he agreed to the sale, than I finished the interview with the girls.  I went back to my friend's table and he offered me to leave my stuff there so my hands weren't over crowded.

Than I went wandering again, I walked around that place at least 3 times before Scott showed up.  I went over and introduced myself to Scott and met Dennie as well which is a back ground artist for the TMNT series.  So I stood and talked with them for awhile.  While there, Shredder called me and I told him where to find us.   So he came around and joined in on talking.  Really I'm surprised how long I stood there talking with Scott, I usually try to walk around the convention a bit and not be there the full time.  Though there wasn't anything at this convention I really needed to go too otherwise.  While talking to Scott the guy who sold me the pins came down stairs and saw me telling me they got some TMNT posters and for me to go up and tell them that I'm the one who bought the backing for the TMNT pins.  So I went up there, and they had Seven posters.  I bought two of them, the other five I have.   Than went back down stairs.  Now I was getting tired and Scott could tell so he let me sit behind the table next to him.

Scott brought a lot of cool stuff to show us, including some very very nice art pieces that he's done.  I really enjoyed going through his book of work.  It was interesting seeing some more of the Scott-Toons and other drawings.   I got two favorites of his work, one of which was in a program and looks very very well done and active.  It's of time square and all this different stuff is going on... you can stare at it for a long time and keep spotting something new and interesting.  The other one I like is for 10 Little Indain show, it's half a skull with a feathered hat.  Really really nice work!   Very Happy/Big Grin

I went back up to my friend's table and got my bag of stuff that was up there and went back down and sat with Scott for the rest of the day.  He was very nice and seemed to be enjoying the conversation as much as Shredder and I were.   The funny thing is, which Scott even said himself.   He looks like Baxter Stockman from the series, so it's kind of like we're sitting there talking with Baxter Stockman, but much nicer than the guy on TV Wink

When Dennie got up and started to pack up, so did Scott.   Shredder was waiting for his folks to show up, and I was doing phone calls with Pichu to find out what we were doing once I got back.  We said our good byes to Scott, we might get to see him on Sunday.   I hung out with Shredder till his mom and sister got there, than I went on my way back to the train station.  I met up with Catman and Pichu once I got back to their side of town than we went for pizza.

After pizza we came back to her place, and watched some TMNT.  I think it was after 11 that I finally went to sleep.

So far today I'm up, she's not yet.  Though when she gets up she's gotta get ready and head to work.  Than RedBarron is taking me back to the bus station.  I should get some cash out of an ATM today, so later I'll give him gas money for doing this for me. Happy/Smile

I'm going to get ready for the new day and catch TMNT today.  Happy/Smile   So I'll be around till 11.

Heh, if Veronica is only going to be there on Saturday, see if you can give me a call and hand it over to her a bit, or fill her in on TMNTRadio Happy/Smile....

If Wayne, Campel, and Veronica come in today instead of sunday, let me know and I'll try and make it Happy/Smile

I'll let you know what's going on... really I was surprise she didn't show up yesterday, I can't wait to see her.  Because this convention seems more like the type where we can just hang out and talk with them than what the Anime Cons have been.  Anime Cons are great for panels, comic Cons are great for just relaxing and enjoying being there.  Happy/Smile

I dout Wayne and them will show up today, if they said Sunday than we can hope they'll be there.   We're just hoping they can make it.  Happy/Smile

I'll be getting to the con more around noon today, even though it opens at 10.  Though there's no panels or anything that I really need to go too, so I'll mainly be over in the 4Kids area meeting the guys there.  Later going to go see Harry Potter.  So I'll give my report when I get the chance, maybe tomorrow morning. Happy/Smile

I hate how my pictures turn out.  I look in the mirror and I don't think the old face looks that bad,  but the camera picks up every detail.  That and even though I can see 360 degrees when the shot was taken, my eyes for some reason automatically close halfway...and no flash either...

Ah well, Scott did comment on how much he looked like Baxter Happy/Smile

Fast review of this morning before heading out....

Woke up kind of early, wrote my review, went down stairs and said hi to Pichu's family while she was sleeping.  I kept poking at her, was hoping to get breakfast before she had to go to work... but she was tired so she didn't get up till an hour before work and we were taking our time so didn't get to go for food.   Though she watched some of 4Kids with me as I got to play on her computer.   Even downloaded mIRC so I can say hi there over the weekend.

After Pichu left for work, I watched TMNT, talked on the phone with Eclipse, and trying to get a hold of my ride to the train station.... may end up having to drive myself, though that cost for parking.  Blah... evil money.

I think I will drive myself, wish me luck at not getting lost.  *G*

Scotts unfortunatly didn't turn out as clearly as Waynes did, but their both definetly useable Happy/Smile...

The convention blurred together with so much going on, so I'm going to have to rely on Iveys account more than my own Happy/Smile.  But the story b oard artists where really cool to talk to, including Ed who woekd on the original series during the carter years.  Adrian did a really cool Shredder versus Karai image for me and Ed did a great Bishop, wich unfortunatly didn't scan too well.

Dunno if I can post the Bishop one as it might be spoiler related.  Have to see if I can get th OK from Ed, but  I can post the Karai VERSUS Shredder one..

And this one Scott did for me of one of my characters.  Both these drawings where done in under 30 minutes..

I wish i could have gone! I would have loved talking with the Harry Potter people (love those books and i like how the forth movie came out!), and hanging out with Scott and the 4Kids people and *sighs*.

It sounds like it was a busy weekend so far and i'm hoping that you were able to have tons of fun while doing it! Maybe i'll be able to go next year... (yeah right) well money wise prolly not, but i'll defiantely be there for Anime Next 2006!

Hey everyone, a bit more a review going to be done now.

After leaving on Saturday I drove out and had to look for the train station.  I knew the exit so that was no trouble, but I didn't know where to go after I got off at the exit.  So I went in circles till I got a phone call from Catman telling me how to get the train station, which really helped.  I bought a two day parking pass than headed into NYC.  Once I got to the convention center the artist were already at the table.  This is when I got the chance to meet..

Jose Velasco, storyboard artist.
Darcy Vorhees, storyboard revision
Keith Gardner, prop designer
Adrian Barrios, character designer

WONDERFUL people.   Jose was doing free sketches all day and he really did keep busy.  Darcy and Keith weren't really doing too many sketches or anything.  Dracy did one for me, which was very nice of her since she originally said she wasn't going to do any since she didn't feel comforable drawing there.  And Keith did a drawing for me as well.   It was really nice of them to do these.   Denny Fincke (background artist) was there again.  Happy/Smile   He's really the one who set this all up for us, he was up walking around and talking to people pushing sales on their sketch book (Highly recommended if you go to the a convention with them).

I spent most of the day with them, talking about what's going on and who's who..  I did go up stairs into the rest of the convention twice, but I don't have money so that was more torture than anything.  I had to get a autograph for my sister so I did that and came back down stairs.

I have invited the artist to TMNT-L and will be sending them emails inviting them as well.  They're really wonderful people and I'm sure they'd love to get the chance to talk to all of us.  Jose is known as the Boardman because he does join message boards.  Happy/Smile

Once I get home I'll scan the sketches I got that day.  Happy/Smile  I also have to get a new pictures of my T-shirt because it's much more filled up.

I didn't get to take any pictures on Saturday because of the fact that I forgot my camera at Pichu's house.  Oops  But I did get some video.

Veronica Taylor showed up with her daughter (6 years old), and they sat at a table across from the artist.  So I would go over and talk to her as well.  She didn't care for the big panel either at Anime Vegas.  I didn't have the gun or the Anime Vegas shirt on me for her to sign and that ended up being the only day she was there.  Bummer eh?

I'm trying to recall what else happened that day, but it was mainly a lot of talking and watching them draw.  Oh!  I did a drawing of Raphael for Jose!  And promised a drawing to Adrian... I don't do too many drawings in one day because it really hurts my hand!  Really HURTS!

After the convention I met up with Pichu and Catman than we headed out to find a threater to see Harry Potter.  Originally we were going to go to an Imax threatre but they said it was too far to make it in time.  So we ended up at Lowe's.   Though the movie didn't start till 11pm, so we had to stall sometime.  We went to eat at a dinner right next store to Lowe's...

I figured I'd try the pizza... once again... I don't like thin crust... and this pizza was worse than the last... I couldn't even finish it.   So I was disappointed.  Though I did get cheese sticks so I ate those and drank my water.  After that we had time to walk around and to a store and I bought a bag of KitKats, figured something to nibble on at the movie threatre.  Though once we finally did make to the movie threatre it was so packed that I felt odd even thinking of reaching into my back pack to grab the snack so I didn't eat anything durning the movie, which is ok.

MIGHT BE SPOILER!   SO SPOILER WARNING FOR HARRY POTTER MOVIE!  (high light to read)

The movie was very long, and had great specail effects.   I felt for Harry when Ron got mad at him, I mean come on Harry didn't do it himself, he even said before hand that he doesn't want it.   Though it happened to him any how.  And people should of realized there was something wrong with 4 names coming out instead of just 3.  I didn't feel like this was my favorite of the Harry Potter movies, though I did like it.  I believe my favorite part was when Harry was taking the bath.  I had no trouble with the ending because I know it's weak only because it's left open for the next movie.

* END OF SPOILER AREA *

After the movie we went back to NJ, I dropped RedBarron off at home than went back to Pichu's house and crashed.

Hey Mikey, who was the artist on Sunday sitting to the left of Edwin?  He was the one who's interview you cut short because of lack of questions :0.  I was going to shoot him an email and tell him thanks for coming, but I never did catch his name..
