Secret Santa...

So, here's how it's done.

Raphael and Michaelangelo are the mods who's going to run this.  So PM either Raphael or Michaelangelo, that you'll like to be involved with the Secret Santa.  At no point will the full list be known by either mod of who joined in, each Mod will only know their own list. 

Send in names till : November 11th  (Last day accepting names is November 10th)

Do not let on that you've sent your name to any mod here on the board, so it'll be a total surprise.  There is no reply needed for this post, it'll remain as an announcement till November 10th, than you'll get a PM with the nick of who you're going to be the Secret Santa for.

Remember no money is involved in this activity!   So just do something that you can post on TMNT-L.  On December 24th a thread will be opened, for people to post their gifts to the person that they're a Secret Santa for.  So people can share their gifts with everyone.

Now say you get a nick of someone you don't know to well on the board.  You can PM either of the two mods in charge with questions about that nick, and the mod will help out, as much as possible.  Please try to have your gifts some what personal towards the person that you're a Secret Santa for, so that it shows the gift is meant for them.

Small hint if you want to try and aim at getting Raphael for your Secret Santa or to be Secret Santa, than you'd have to PM Michaelangelo..  and if you want to try and aim at getting Michaelangelo, you'll have to PM Raphael.   Just a small hint at how that is working.

Please note that if we don't get more than 10 members taking part in Secret Santa this year, that this will be our last year doing this activity.  It got real slow the last two years, though the presents were all great.  It is hard when there's so few taking part in it.

Only 2 more days left till we stop taking names.

Well today is the last day to send in your name for Secret Santa.

In 2006 we had 14 people sign up - all came through.
In 2007 we had 10 people sign up - one person did not follow through.
In 2008 we had 6 people sign up - two people did not follow through.

It's sad to see so few people taking part in this event each year.  I can personally say that everyone who did not follow through in the past years have not signed up this year.  And from not following through last year they can not join back up this year.  Everyone who is taking part so far I believe will not let anyone on the board down.

In my count I'm only counting each member that signed up.  You can add 2 for each year for Raphael and I, since we both took part as well.

This truly was a fun event, and if this is our last year.  I will personally miss it.  People did put their hearts into it.   The first year was my favorite year, since people just joined for the fun of being part of it.  Though these last few years has been me posting and reminding and reminding.  It's becoming work.  To convince people to take part, and that's not what this activity was about.    Which is why I do believe this will be our last time having the Secret Santa here on TMNT-L.

I hope everyone that takes part enjoys making and receiving the gifts.
