In case anyone missed the memo - for 2010 NYCC and NYAF are combining into one big double-con. It's going to be awesome.

Oh, I'm disappointed to hear this. I look forward to two conventions out there a year.

Yeah I don't like this at all... both cons had full schedules that I enjoyed... combining them means that people like me would have to choose between these awesome panels, they'd be over lapping more. NYC Comic Con is busy enough as it is... it's like San D comic con is too big to really enjoy, they do this and I may start feeling the same way at NYC Comic con... don't want to feel that way about the con... right now the NYC comic con is my favorite con.

I don't like the move either. Cons at the Javits are always mayhem and crowded....just think with the two combined..... I really wanted to go to Comic Con this year because I couldn't go last year. And I miss seeing my friends (points to the above post-Michaelangelo) I haven't seen people in ages. The fact of the double maddness where you can't even walk or breathe is not so inviting.

I'm under the impression that they're using more of the center, though... so it won't be twice the madness crammed into the same amount of space.

Yeah... bigger space equals more time needed to get to events... equals harder to get from point a to point b in the amount of time ya want to. One of the reasons I don't care to much for San D con. It's huge and a LOT of walking is needed. NYC Comic Con was just big enough, there was a lot of walking at times with how it was. But it was at the point where I didn't mind.
I think Conventions put to much on the table when they try to become super big, soon we're going to loose the "we're fans too" feeling from this con and it'll be another con where you're just being herded around like cattle. NYC had some good stuff to it.
I'll still be going to give it a try, but if it feels like San D to me, I won't promise to keep going after wards... we'll just have to see.

Yeah I think your right, and also they will have no choice but to use more of the center.... however then there is the point that Michaelangelo wrote, about getting from point a to point b will be extremely more difficult. I don't know.... Maybe if some one I know is going for sure I will try and go....I just know it will be crazy no matter what.

I know some people are already starting to talk about going to this, so I was wondering if anyone wants to chat here about it. I'm going to register soon, cause I do plan to go to this event. So let's get this place chatty, I know it's still over 200 days away, but it's worth planning early

I'm likely to go... doesn't require a whole lot of advance planning for me, though, so I'll wait and see who the guests are.

I'm saving up money to go with my dad to this event. I'm hoping Kevin Eastman will be there!

Count me in! Mica and I are going, we've already got our hotel room booked ... and I really need to get my ticket. ;-P
I love NYC, and I'm so excited to go back there again this year. Who else thinks New York-style pizza is the best kind out there?
