Working out my plans for NYC Comic Con.... bus tickets no problem I'll be there Wednesday morning and leaving Tuesday night...
Though what is being my issue is my hotel. I had someone saying they'll share a room with me, which would be great cause that'd cut my cost down from $600 (single person room) to $375 (half of the double person room which is $750). I'd be able to afford to get food and such while in the city... just that extra bit of breathing. Though the person who was sharing with me has not had any contact with me in the last month or so, and nothing is even booked... gotta see what's going on so we can get this stuff booked so I can go.
Anyone else traveling alone? If for any reason the person I'm hoping to book with falls through, I'd love to find someone else to room with me at the convention. It's a small hotel room, bunk beds, the bathroom is a shared bathroom down the hall. Though I don't see us at the hotel too much, it's in NYC so no traveling in and out of the city.
I'm just really trying to find away to save money on this trip, cause it's been getting tighter lately. If I don't have anyone in a room with me, I don't think I can afford the $600 for the room alone... I'd have to figure out what to do.

We are planning to stay in Newark.. at the Best Western Newark Airport West.. price is under $100 a night for the 5 of us. The hotel offers a free shuttle to Newark Penn Station and then it is only a $5 train ride one way into the New York Penn Station down town.. It will be the first time to Big Apple and to NYCC for my gf and our kids.. so trying to keep it cheap, we will be there on Sunday!!

Please keep posts about conventions in their proper conventions topics. Since there is already an NYC Comic Con topic, we have merged "TMNT Artists at NYCC" with this topic.
I don't know all the TMNT artist that will be there, haven't looked at the list. I know Michael should be there as well as Kevin, there's usually a lot more but this will be our first year where "Mirage Studios" won't be going as a group. You can check out NECA as the people who made those toys are usually there, so you can talk to some of the artist there. I will get around to checking the "Artist Alley" list hopefully next week and will say if there's any others that I see. I'll also update the first post here when I do that.

Yay my hotel room is booked.
I'm going to be by myself for the room after all, so coming in on Thursday and leaving Monday night. Still looking for a fun time while in the city!

Hey everyone...
I got my math worked out so that a week from today I'll be booking my Greyhound tickets. That is the last thing I need to book, as my hotel and convention badge is already reserved.
I will be staying alone this time and staying inside NYC. By doing this I won't have a reason to race back to the bus station so if anyone in the city wants to hang out after convention hours, we can. I know my hotel is near Ray's Pizza (where Roy's was filmed in TMNT 2), so more than likely I may stop in there each night on the way back to the hotel just for something quick and cheap to munch down... unless anyone offers up meeting some where else for food. One day I'll like to eat at Planet Hollywood, would be awesome to do this with friends so if anyone else is up for joining me there let me know which night is best for you. The only night I know I won't be up for Planet Hollywood is Sunday, because plans have already been made for that day.
A little over a month away... can't wait.
I'm looking forward to a chance to hang out with friends while in the city, I'm going to try and get some extra map info together for TMNT connected places in the city. And as soon as the schedule is up on their website I will post a copy of my schedule here on TMNT-L. If there's changes done to the Schedule I will come back here and adjust it.
This will be the first trip I will not be traveling with my laptop. So there will most likely not be full day by day updates of the convention until I get home. Unless I feel like logging in on my phone and typing it up. Which could happen.
Cowabunga Corner: I want to do some filming stuff for Cowabunga Corner. This includes interviewing fellow fans and guest. If you're up for being interviewed let's try to plan it outside of convention hours so we can get better sound for the interview. Interviews will be short 5 to 10 questions long and most likely only 3 or 4 of those questions will make it into Cowabunga Corner. If you want to be interviewed please PM me here on TMNT-L and we'll work out a time and place. I will be in NYC Thursday thru Monday.
Traveling by Greyhound: I know people are use to me having a lot of collectibles with me on my trips. For everyone to see, I usually pull around a big back pack with my laptop, things to get autographed and things to share. Though this time I do not believe that I'll be doing this since I am traveling by Greyhound. I will select a few small things to get autographed and will have a back pack with me, though don't think it'll go to the convention everyday. I plan to do any shopping on Sunday so most likely that will be the day I have the back pack with me. I want to travel light, so movie props, cels, scripts, story boards, ect will not be with me on this trip.

I don't agree with ya ShredHead, with all the cons I've gone too I only see them in the NYC area. Sometimes Veronica will be at another convention, but not often. So while you may be use to seeing them out there, those who haven't come to NYC yet hasn't got much of a chance to see them. Ok I updated the Guest list, adding Jim Martin and Noel MacNeal. They're two of the puppeteerers from TMNT 3, there's a panel on Sunday they'll be part of. I'm excited, it'll be my first time meeting Noel. So yay for this! Cowabunga Corner: Ok fan interviews are being lined up, sounds like we'll be doing a handful of interviews after the con on Saturday. I was thinking about meeting up at Ray's, we can get some food and either one at a time or in small groups go outside and do some interviews. The convention ends at 7pm on Saturday, so I'd say 8:30 would be a good meet up time. If someone can think of a better place for a meet up, where there would be room to film and better lighting and sound control please let me know. My hotel room is super tiny so I won't have room to do this there. Ray's Pizza is where they filmed Roy's Pizza in TMNT 2 the Secret of the Ooze. So that's the nice thing about that place for filming. The bad thing is that it's going to be dark outside. I won't have electric for my normal filming light to work. So we'd be working with any street lights. And wind could be a problem with sound, we'll just have to see how things go.

Isn't he always a given regardless? Someone should find out for sure. Hey Ivey, you can now add Erik Larsen to the list! From facebook- "In case you were wondering--YES--I AM going to the New York Comic Con." I was wondering, do you think you could make a list in your first post of what days/booths/areas these guests will be at so we don't have to scramble to find them when we're there? Ya know, a comprehensive TMNT NYCC travel guide! Do ya think Richard, Rick, Khary & other artists (sans Dooney) would do free sketches? PS if "registered" means you have your tickets, add an *R* to mah name.

I don't normally do that, cause that'd be an lot more up keep required of me, some of which that I don't even know because the panel list and artist alley tables are not labeled yet.
I do usually end up making a post of panels that I plan to be at, ect after they post their panel list. But we're still waiting on that *growls at the website*
