Ok, I've been an X-Men fan for almost as long as a turtle fan. Though, I have more of a love for X-Men than turtles. Sorry, just can't help it.

The first movie made me jump for joy to see these characters finally displayed on the big screen.

The second movie had me in tears by the end for hitting that soft spot I have that even the books hit so long ago.

This movie.... I'm not so sure of yet. While I'm enjoying the more action than what the others had, I just know it won't be the same. It won't have the same heart. I read a script review of it a few months back and was filled with complete disappointment. The scenes that upset me the most look to be in this movie...

All I can say is, I'm worried for this movie... I'm not sure it's going to be as good as the others or even pull those heartstrings that should be pulled with this storyline. There's so much potential for it to go down as the greatest comic book superhero movie out there. And you have to know, I hold the Superman movie to be my all time favorite to where I get chills down my arms from hearing the score and seeing him fly.

That trailer gives me a little bit of hope, but that isn't saying much.  Truthfully I lost hope for this movie when all the rumors started flying around.

I love X-Men so much, I mean my cat is named Gambit for crying out loud and my best friend's dog is Logan (because if Logan was a dog he'd be a little black pug) so yeah, we're geeks.  Y'know I've actually gotten to the point where I'm now worried that they're only going to put Gambit in the movie to try and "save" the franchise when it starts to tank.   Sad/Down

But like I said the trailer gave me a little hope.  I didn't see Stacy X... I'd heard all over the place that she was going to be in it but for the life of me I can't figure out why she would be.  That's a good thing.

Oooh, breaking up Rogue and Iceman (what was up with that anyway) perhaps... to create a place for a certain Cajun thief?  Hey, I never said I DIDN'T want Gambit in there!   LOL

I'm not really happy about Beast's design... but I'm so happy to see him finally make it in the movie as more than just a blip on a tv screen.

Still the single biggest disappointment is the fact that Nightcrawler isn't in this movie.  My three favorite X-Men are (in order) Gambit, Nightcrawler and Beast so I was sure they'd slowly be working them all in there.  *sigh*  Again I hate rumors but I've been told that it was a matter of there not being enough of a role for Nightcrawler for it to make sense to pay Alan Cumming to play him.   Crying/Very Sad   I LOVED Nightcrawler in the last movie, and I love Alan Cumming in general, so I will miss him greatly.

I hope all of that made sense and wasn't too whiny.  I just woke up from a nap in front of a hot icky fireplace.   Embarassed

I have not seen this trailer, and can't even really attempt it on my dialup.
However, the rumors I have heard do bother me this movie will be a disappointment.

Hearing there won't be Nightcrawler? Boooooo!
Now I am bummed.
I was so looking forward to maybe that great chemistry between Wolvie and Nightcrawler, if they bothered to work with that.

Yeah, Leo... I def wouldn't try it... it took about 20 minutes on CABLE to upload the HD trailer.

As for no Nightcrawler... yeah, I'll miss the possible friendship he could have had with Wolverine. Instead they give us fans the Fastball Special.

Onna, Stacy X is one of the females with Magneto. In the scene where they are all walking, she is to his left and beside(sorta in front of) her is Callisto! They didn't give her an eye patch!!

The new idea shooting around is that it will be named "The Last Stand".

Breaking up Rogue and Iceman, yeah, seems like they might be heading in the direction of The Ultimate X-Men now.

I'm thinking, after seein frame by frame, that Beast might get a little CGI treatment on top of prosthetics *fingers crossed* I mean, the blue fur on his chest just STOPS at his neck.... Hopefully that will happen, and we'll get to HEAR Kelsey Grammar. His voice will definitely work as Beast. I know its a kind of typecast role for Grammar, but work with what ya got.   He should have taken after his "brother Niles" in Hellboy(don't go changing it to Shellboy either! Stupid censor =p)... be the voice and let someone else be the body. =p

See I thought they were going to do Kelsey Grammar's voice with someone else's body.  (And for the record I'm also a huge Abe Sapien fan, and on top of that I love David Hyde Pierce's voice so yeah... that made me SO happy.  Leo, Abe and Nightcrawler are my three blue/green boys... but that's OT.)

Ugh, now I'm going to have to watch it again to see Stacy X.  Honestly, with all the great X-Men out there that people are WANTING to see in the movie *cough*Gambit*cough* WHY do they go putting someone like Stacy X in there?  I understand that she probably has a fan following but I'm betting that it isn't as big as some better known names.

I actually don't know much about her fan following. I'm not even sure she's still around anymore.  I think this will probalby be the last film... especially with them throwing in soooooooooooooo many different characters. It really did shock me that Gambit wasn't thrown in as well.

You could probably just look at the screen caps and see her.... waste of space, really... *shakes head*

Nah I think these films will go on as long as they continue to make money unfortunately.  That's why I really am worried that they'll finally throw Gambit in because fans have been wanting to see him for three movies now, so even if the previous one tanks, they'll see Gambit's movie.

*sigh*  I gotta admit I probably would.

Y'know Pheonix I would imagine that you were looking forward to this what with Jean's "OMG I'M DEAD OR AM I" stuff.  (I know the basics behind that but it's been a long time so the details are a little sketchy.)

Believe me, I was excited for a long time, especially after the second movie because I knew where it was going to go. Then I read the script review and was like... This isn't Jean... I don't know if you read the script review or know what happens, so I can't elaborate on that right now. If ya wanna talk more, PM me or AIM me, don't wanna let spoilers out to everyone.

During a slow period at work I took a look at this teaser. It looks interesting enough to see in the theaters. Still need to see the second one first though. Razz

Casting Kelsey Grammer as Beast is an unusual choice. Grammer's voice matches well for Beast. I just hope I don't have Sideshow Bob flashbacks. Very Happy/Big Grin  And I think you're not going to see much action outta Beast in this movie. Unless they go the CG route, which in my opinion has a problem in creating convincing looking fur. But maybe the action will hide the flaws.

I think Brett Ratner as director can work well. Ratner is more recognized for his Rush Hour movies, but Ratner is certainly capable in doing a movie with a serious tone. Take a look at Red Dragon. That was a very good movie.

And I'm sure this will be the last X-Men movie for quite some time. The trilogy is standard for movies. Any more than three and you really are asking for trouble. However, there will most definately be spin-offs. There's already a Wolverine movie planned for 2007. But years from now it's certainly possible a new series of X-Men movies will appear. Just take a look at Batman and TMNT.

PG support away, i know there's other people who are X-men fans Happy/Smile I personally like the x-men but i don't really follow them close enough to know all of the characters, just the ones who are widely known like Gambit, Wolverine, Rogue, ect.

As for the movie, heh, i better see the second one before i see the third. I hope thought that it comes out better then it's seeming people are expecting.

I love having a geek mom.  I told my mom Kelsey Grammar was playing Beast and she actually CARED.  *L*  After discussing that we then moved on to discussing Hellboy.   Love

I didn't really like the preview for the movie, though I want to go see the movie. I wanna see how bad they did Beast/Hank. The only time, so far, I liked the loveable creature was in the '92 cartoon series, and every time I seen him after the '92 series, I've hated how they've portrayed him in Evolution. He wasn't really a regular character in the X-Men: Evolution, or really an X-Men for that matter. I wish they would put Night in the movie. He's one of my two favorite characters from the X-Men universe.
