I didn't know that fan-art made most art teachers cringe o_o; *blinks and looks towards College teacher*... Uh oh.. XD *just did a 'fan art' piece for an advertisement assignment*

And yeah, it's true. They don't like fan art, do they?
Nope nope nope.
If you want good grades, just have some sideways fun like sneaking in a dragon or a normal turtle every so often. Or slip in your fan art in with a thumbnail when you have to do "30 thumbnails/concepts". But avoid going directly forward with any licensed, trademarked characters of popular cultural media for your finished pieces. Gets one better grades....it does.

Thanks for all the Congrats!  I would've replied earlier if it weren't for being sick the day after Graduation up until Monday.  Mad

And yes, fanart makes any of my college ART teachers (more like professors, they tend to profess what they know as opposed to teaching...) cringe.

Fug: Definitely all watercolor, probably a little bit of an opaque water color in there as well (guache?  Gauche? I can never remember how to spell it, but it's pronounced "goo-ah-sh".
