Hey everyone as you all know I am a huge fan of Avatar : The Last Air Bender.  I've collected all three seasons of the series on DVD, I got a few toys and anytime it's on TV I'll watch it.  This TV series is a master piece of art work, story, character growth, comedy, and adventure.  One I highly recommend for anyone!

Last night though I took a chance on the movie, as I bought my tickets for the Midnight showing of "The Last Air Bender" title changed after that "Avatar" movie made it so big last year.  Directed by M. Night Shyamalan.  Now I heard that the Producers had a close hand in the movie... I heard that his daughter is a fan of the movie and wasn't going to let him screw it up.  The ads showing the bending and Appa looked good...   All of that put together gave some sort of hope... hope that was to be crushed fast.  Let me just say the Avatar in this movie does not give me hope.

Reasons I dis approve of this movie:
1. The names are all said wrong... I think all Avatar fans should start calling M Night  MacNight to show him that we feel his movie of the Last Air Bender was the fast food version of the story and see how he likes being called by the wrong name!
2. The fire Benders needed fire in the area to bend, when in the series they drew their energy for the fire from the sun and did not need an outside source of fire.
3. Appa and Momo were just there, no personality given.
4. The fight scenes were really bad, a lot of just waving arms around and standing there waiting for something to happen from that.
5. The comedy was sucked dry from most of the main characters including Aang.
6. Fire Lord (who in the series was kept out of sight till Season 3) was through out the movie.  (I cringed when a picture was shown of him, and than they had him really in it!)
7. Characters that played lead roles later in the series were cut out.
8. Aang was having a hard time learning water bending.
9. Aang seem to have more control of himself in the Avatar state!
10. Zuko was a whinning little brat, more so than normal is temper wasn't nearly as strong.

Ok all that without giving away spoilers!  Is that bad?  I think so!  OMG was this movie hard to watch, half way through my hands were in fist by my side or crossed against my chest.  And that's not even getting into how worthless the 3D was in this movie!  I mean hello, you got 3D... you got water benders and fire benders how cool could this 3D be???  Guess they didn't agree as the only thing in 3D was the names of the areas we were going to.  "Fire Nation" Oh yeah, they used footage of the Fire Nation in movie 1!!!

*takes a few deep breaths*

I feel this movie was better than the Dragon Ball Z movie, as in I can sit through it again... though I don't think I can do that at the main theaters don't like wasting money.  But it is by far no where near as good as it could have been.

Best actor in the movie was Aang, though they didn't give him a chance in the script to show it.  You could just see it in the few times where they did let him show he had a fun side - flash backs.  His character could of been so much better.

I'm not going to get into what race they made each tribe.  I'm not going to get into how they screwed up the end of the movie. I'm just going to say... if you're a fan of the Last Air Bender, avoid this movie!  It's not worth it!

MacNight did us all wrong!
