Friday was not an easy day on us... as most of it was waiting for Eclipse and carrying our bags around... the convention started before she got there.
Miki and I got into opening ceremony's though I missed taping the beginning of it as I tried to get everything in order after getting a seat. It started only seconds after we got our seats. At the end of Opening we had to gather our bags back up and head to a line for Maid Cafe, which is a paid event. I go to this every year as it's a time to hang out with friends and guest while having some tasty treats.
While in Line Eclipse called me, there was no way I could drop where I was for long without loosing out on our place in line and wasting the money spent to go into this event. I went to the lobby to meet up with her for the room key than had to make a fast return to line. In line something cool did happen, the hotel had a surprise guest making his way through and he came pass us with full guard all around him.
Mr. Marriott himself, the owner of the Marriott hotels was going through giving an inspection. This very happy man, walking looking at all the costumes around him as he headed into the Maid Cafe area. That was cool to see, someone I never even thought I would see or would I have gone out of my way to see. But neat all the same.
Once we got into the Maid Cafe we made our orders and hung out for awhile, I got to talk to some of the guests there. Even did some recording for Cowabunga Corner's Report of Youmacon. (which is being worked on right now). After Maid Cafe we got our stuff up to the room and called my folks to bring the rest of our stuff. Once the folks got there we went down stairs to get our stuff.
Miki had her bird costume dropped off, this thing is huge and can not just be carried... so Miki had to wear the bird costume up to the room which left all the luggage in my hands. I wore my Turtle head up there, we ended up taking the stairs just because it was too crowded around the elevators... Miki had an asthma attack in the stairs so again we took some time to rest in the room.
I called Eclipse to find out they were in the food court, so after resting we went down there to join them and say. Thought maybe we'd get some food, till I saw the prices. They had another friend with them today, who I thought was going to stay with us... but was only there for the day. So we walked her to her car. Once we got back in, we all went up to the hotel room to rest for the evening and just hang out.
