Hey everyone,

IDW TMNT #1 is coming out on August 24th!  Are you picking up the new comic??

I'll be picking it up, still out in Hollywood area so I'll get it from Golden Apple which is the comic book store where the Turtle Bus stopped back in 2009 in the Hollywood area.  I know Kevin has appeared there a few times for autograph sessions.

Not sure how many places around here will have the comic. But I'll look around.

Figured now would be the best time of any to join. So to answer your question, i've called my two local comic book shops to see if they'll be getting the new series in. They both said yes, I even went to one and pre-ordered it myself, so I am definitely getting it. Really excited. Never got into the comics[have always wanted to though]. Plan on getting all of the Ult. Collection volumes too.

Wow...another thing that happens while I end up going AWOL for a chunk of the summer...I miss out on juicy news.

Yes! I will most definitely buy the comic...if I can FIND it. The cruddy comic store we used to have that went all cards is gone now, so I end up getting my comics at a nice place in the Cities.

Thing is, the little comic shop here USED to be really good. I used to get my Mirage Turtles there before he moved out of the mall. I got a few more of the Image ones at his second place before the Pokemon and Yugioh craze caught on and he stopped selling comics(even DC and Marvel! seriously!) in favor of cards. He moved one more time around the block close to the theater where it was all cards, but he closed up. Probably another small business here eaten up by the economy.

But I found a really nice, healthy comic shop in the Cities not far at all from our usual hotel that I get loads and loads of comics from, including back issues of comics I didn't have or from series I got into after they were over sort of thing. I'll be up that way in a couple of weeks for the Renaissance Faire(and we'll be in costume this year!), so I can mebbe stop over and ask if they'll help me out in getting the comics.

I know they do comic hold/order things, but I can't be sure if they'll do it for someone who lives 3 hours away from the Cities. They do it for locals, but I'd have to ask, and I probably will. If not, I'll have to catch up on those times I'm able to get up there or hunt them down during the Con. I'm fairly sure they'll have it as they've had comics I've wanted to find elsewhere and couldn't until I went there. It's a decently sized, popular place. I'm even on their mailing list, so I'll probably see it if they get it in before I'm even up there.

GeekChicDaily sent this in their daily newsletter:

Pizza Party: Kevin Eastman's TMNT Return

For once, having dad come home doesn't spoil the teenagers' fun

Children of the '80s remember the black-and-white comics. Youngsters of the '90s can still sing "Heroes in a half-shell... Turtle power!" And today? Time to run down to your local comic book store and celebrate with a pizza party. The first issue of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot from [url-http://www.idwpublishing.com/]IDW Publishing[/url] is hitting shelves. The book comes in advance of a new cartoon series that brings the cool quartet out of their shells for a new generation.

Making things extra-totally tubular is a bodacious blast from the past: co-creator Kevin Eastman returns to writing TMNT comics for the first time in 15 years. A fan of IDW, he tells GCD that despite the long absence, "I found myself completely [stoked] to see what I could add to their already awesome creative team." (Be sure to check out the full GeekChicDaily Kevin Eastman TMNT Interview.)

If you're as pumped-up as a toy Turtle Blimp to see what Eastman can bring, also check out GCD's exclusive TMNT by IDW art gallery, featuring pages from the SDCC 2011 TMNT Ashcan Edition PLUS two never-before-seen additional pages from issue #1. You'll get a glimpse a feline felon named Old Hob who's the new scourge of the sewers, as well as hints of a revamped origin. Want more? Get the shell down to your local comic store and grab Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 today.

Very nice! I wasn't sure if B&N sold GN/comics or not. Good to know. Anyway...how much did it cost? I plan on going by my comic book store tomorrow to pick it up.

It was $3.99, I can't believe comics are getting to be so expensive! But its all worth it for the Turtles  Happy/Smile
