Since May I have been going to the Wellness Center to workout, because I want to lose weight, build muscle, gain strength and look and feel good. I started at 215 pounds, and now I weigh 220 and my size isn't shrinking. What gives? I bust my hump for 6 - 7 hours a day lifting weights, swim, run, bike riding, cardio, eat less callorie, less fat foods. Again what gives? I want to be 185 pounds, but I can't get out of the 210s. It's a serious pain when you work your tail off all day for so long and results are going in the opposite direction.

I think it needs some more time until you see any results...My best friend also gave up too early, because she thought it wouldnt work..Now she does nothing against it, sadly..

Well I met someone at the health club last week, and he's in good shape. He told me he has been working out for 4 years. I don't want to wait THAT long. I'll be 33 in that case. They told me in June that if I kept up on the track I have been, I was going to reach my weight goal of 185 by my 29th birthday which was 20 days ago. No. I'm still 218. I totally wish that when you work your butt off it shows soon and not later. I won't lie, I am impaitent when it comes to results.

Unfortunately, weight loss/getting into shape isn't something that can be rushed (in spite of what the "As seen on tv" crap would try to get you to believe). You didn't get into your current shape overnight and you're not going to get out of it quickly either. Sticking with it is the only way you'll see results.
What sort of food are you eating? Maybe that's working against you. Yes, cutting fat/calories is a great start but some people gain weight when they eat too many carbs - sugars, breads, pastas, potatoes...

The big thing is, you don't want to look Just at weight for progress - you need to look at your muscle/fat ratios. Bulky muscle weighs more than fat, and can increase your size. If you do more toning exercises, than can help you to slim down your lines a bit more..

I'd say just keep at it. You'll get there. It doesn't happen overnight, and maybe you need to really check that you're eating the right foods. Don't give up though. You can do it.

That could be part of the problem. I do have an eating problem both in quantity when I eat healthy foods and I do sparse. I do eat can of tuna, V8 spicy low sodium, milk after a major workout. While at the Wellness Center, I eat 1 peach, 1 tomato, vitamin water, yogurt. I do have a major thing for soda pop. I like meat and chicken. On weekends I eat 2 cans of lima beans, kidney beans, spinach. Yeah, it gets a little smelly in my room 3 hours after eating those things if you know what I mean.
Workout at the wellness center from 2 PM - 9PM not counting the 45 minutes to get there and back. So about 8 hours invested each day. No I don't workout the entire time. I mean I take 5 minute breaks in between rounds of 10 reps, 2 hours in the hot areas, 20 minutes to small snack, 45 minutes biking riding to get there and 45 minutes to ride home. Workouts contain: lat pulldown, run/walk/run (repeat) indoor track, punching a bag, ISO bench press, dumbells, rowing, sword fighting, cardio, cross cable, abs, sit ups with a barbell on my chest, leg press, swimming, resistance pool, bike riding, bench press using back lifter, duel pulldown, rock climbing on the wall, treadmill. Yeah, I'm busy there. But again I started routinly last May at 235 pounds and now on September 26 I'm at 218. There was a time half way through the summer I was 211, but weight went back up again. Having a birthday earlier this month didn't help. Despite the trouble losing weight, my arms are hardening and changing shape, and my chest is rounding out slowly, but my stomach is still round. Very discouraging. Just like the job market, discouraging.

Ooh, pop is definitely a bad one, especially if it's non-diet. And don't starve yourself, that's just as harmful for losing weight as overeating is.
Another important thing to remember is that you should try to settle in on something you can do for life. Diet's do not work over the long haul...the minute you go off of them, the weight will return. You have to decide that, whatever changes you're making, they're going to be with you for a very long time.
It really does sound like you're on the right track, though (other than, possibly, the pop).

The downside lately is that it's expensive. It's $25 per week at the gym and I invested $75 this month so far. And I recently go into eating celery, and drinking V8.
