Heya all, just wanted to let you know...

Our move is almost finished. We have about a week before we need to be out, and the apartment has been largely emptied, but for odds 'n ends and furniture. Dad's already coming in this morning to get some furniture out, including the beds, so we're going to be switching over to the farm for this last week so we can get the last of it out and the place cleaned up for inspection.

That said, this'll be my last post for a little while. We're gonna bring the computers out with us as well, so they're not left unguarded in an apartment that's in the process of being vacated. So the internet's going down as well, and I'm not sure when it'll be back up at the farm. Won't be a long gap, if all goes well. I'm going to aim to get hooked up next week or, failing that, the first week of January. It all depends on what the company has open for their guys to come out and get us set.

So if I vanish for awhile, heh, this time it's deliberate and not my getting lost in chaos. Just without internet for a week or two.

Got the internet hooked up yesterday afternoon and, thankfully, didn't have to remember my password. I seem to still be logged in, so woot! No resetting there. Seem to have misplaced my codebook(more like I don't know which darn box its in!), so I worried that I'd have to reset it. Nope, I got lucky, still logged in. Yay!

Whoo, lots of updates....

1. Did have a good Christmas/New Years. Wasn't a big event, given how tired and stressed we were, but we had a good one nevertheless.

2. Move did get completed at the end of the year. Actually got a couple extra days, which helped. We were supposed to be done on the 31st, but the landlord had to reschedule, so we got a couple more days and were out of there around the 3rd instead. Got all moved and cleaned up, and we're all out of there.

3. Took me this long to get back online because when we finished the move, our computer room was stuffed full of furniture and we had no room to get the computers set up. Took us this long to get things shuffled about to make juuust enough room to get things together. Would have been only 2 weeks if it had gone as planned, but it didn't. It's done, though, and now we're just taking our time in unpacking and getting sorted.

4. Sadly, I lost Jasmine, my 18 year old Angora cat, about a month ago. Lost her to kidney failure, which just happens when a cat gets that old. Wasn't feeling well one night, then the next morning, she just couldn't move. Couldn't get up, barely lifted her head, and was barely breathing. We got her into the vet and they confirmed that she was dying, so we had to put her to sleep. Miss the old girl.

5. Caught a cold, which I'm slowly getting over with. Had it for a week, but every day, I'm getting better.

So now, I'm playing catch-up all across the net. Figured I'd stop by though, since I discovered that I didn't need to remember or reset my password. Heard that there's some interesting TMNT news going around, so I'll have to look into that and catch up.

Welcome back, TN. I'm glad things are looking up for you. Sorry to hear about your cat though. It's never easy to lose a beloved pet.

No, it isn't. I cried for most of the day, but...she had a VERY long life, especially for a farm cat. 18 years, so I wasn't really surprised, but I do miss her.

Yeah, at least you can take comfort that she lived a good life and was well taken care of.

Glad to see you back TN and good to hear the move went alright!

But sorry for your loss. It's always tough losing someone you love. Take comfort in all the good times spent with Jasmine.

And yeah, it sucked. But I remember all the stuff she would do, sometimes as a kitten(she loved to sleep on towels in the linen closet, lol), and as an adult(like sleeping on my head!). She had a long, happy life and was well loved.
