Man I dunno whether to feel sorry for Karai or not. She's just gona plain nuts! Even after all the destruction she's seen Shredder do, and his disregard for the lives of the people in Bejing, she still respects the alien slimebag! She doesn't even know how to be The Shredder. When April's apartment was blown up in season 1, Saki wanted proof that the TMNT and company were all dead but Karai never did that in this ep. All the Foot Soldiers witnessed was the destruction of the driller, Battle Shell and the Shell Sub with no sight of Splinter or the guys. You can see how stupid the Foot Clan has become over her rule.

Absolutlely fantastic episode! So epic!
Karai makes a kickass villian. She's so ruthless. I'm hoping she'll be around for a long time.
Watching the boys and Splinter fighting to survive and get out... Wow. That was intense!
I felt so sorry for Mikey that his Nexus trophy smashed.
When I saw them all get picked out like that, I thought "No way. This has got to be another state of the mind trick." Then at the end when I noticed it wasn't an illusion, I was like "Oh, crap...
"
Oh, man... I'm scared just to think how Leo will react to all this. Hell, I feel sorry that Karai is going to have to deal with him soon. Is he going to snap again and go on a total killing spree on the Foot? Is he going to be well composed? Is he going to ruthly murder Karai with no remorse? Gah! I can't wait!

Yes, Karai makes a great villain, because she's so rotten. I've no sympathy for her, that's for sure.
I just so want to see Leo trash her.

Better yet, I'd like to see Karai actually be sent to a psychatric hospital for awhile. I mean they used to do it all the time in the Batman/Superman series, so why not on TMNT?

First off I gotta say that if this sends Leo back into his brooding depression... I'm gonna hurt somebody. It may have to be someone completely unrelated to the series (my poor boyfriend!) but yeah... I do NOT want that again.
Wow, just wow. I don't even know HOW to react to this episode! I mean... what's gonna happen? Where are they going to live now? I
really liked that lair! And yes, these are the things I think about.
I can't say I'm really all that worried about them being dead considering we KNOW they can't be but there's always the chance for serious injury or something. And seriously, what kind of evil villain doesn't have her henchmen actually get the bodies? She's got a lot to learn about being a crazy badguy! Ruthless, evil and completely psycho? Yes. Thorough? Not so much. Of course this is good for us and all that but I'm just looking at all sides of the coin.
I am REALLY looking forward to next week's episode.

That was cool! Missed the guys since December, so it's nice to seem them back on the telly. It's funny the word 'Scion' in the title, I kept thinking of the Toyota brand name! They're nice cars, btw, we once rented one when our Rav 4 was having a full maintenence check. All right, enough of that... It was a good episode, but you know, the villains never seem the brightest of the bunch in almost any show I watch. Don's ship explodes, they assume he and Splinter are dead. Raph dumps the Battleshell, they assume he's dead. Mike careens off and crashes big time, they assume he's dead. Real villains would have checked to see if they're dead, and I mean a thorough inspection. If they're still breathing, they would end their lives right there by either more severe beatings (get them while their down sort of thing) or the ultimate price: decapitation. Okay, you think I'm getting morbid here? Here's another thing: At the end of the episode, I was about ready to see the 2nd Time Around shop blow up as Karai leaves! The villains are on their final straw from the camel's back and that would have been an even more cliffhanger of an ending! KILL KILL KILL! *ahem* I was worried for Klunk, too, thinking he'd bolt and find his own hiding place. I think it's owning two cats that I worry for poor Klunky. Can't wait for next week! Or, well, I can wait cuz I have work that day, so I want to see the show NOW and then go play!

I really enjoyed it!
Yes, I agree the villains are a bit cliched stupid at the end about assuming a damaged or flipped vehicle means they killed the enemy. And we know everyone will have survived the various crashes (I suspect Don and Splinter to still have been in the "pit" they made on the ocean floor while Don sent the ship on out to be destroyed.)
Next week, I am sooo looking forward to Leo facing off against Karai, and I will expect kicking her butt. It's been a very long time in coming.
Karai rode the fence for a long time, and she finally made a choice. I think Splinter's lines to her described it very well.
But, even though Karai chose a dark and twisted side, I have to give Karai points as a character for her demonstration of bushido when it comes to serving Saki, even though ninja don't exactly follow bushido--there's still tales of the ninja codes. But the old adage about was it a better example of bushido to serve an evil master rather than a good master? To the master one owed an obligation of duty and familial fealty. Saki was her adopted father, after all.
But it's still sad, because chose a path that hurts others.
I have to wonder, how did the Foot find the Lair?
And now that it's been found, and basically destroyed, where will they set up again?
They can't use April's place, not as long as Karai is able to lead the Foot there.
I also wonder, when Leo returns, does he find the destroyed lair and presume the worst? Then go off to find Karai? Probably finds April first....
Do the others wander around out of contact with each other? Or do they all get together and then go kick Karai's butt?
hmmmm
And does Mikey ever get to reglue his Battle Nexus Trophy? heh.
Looking forward to seeing it!!!

For the first time (I think), the Turtles enemy is a girl! They should send Venus to deal with her! That is proper etiquette having women fighting each other (Olive Oyl eats the spinach to get Sea Hag, Ms. Pac-Man chomps down Sue the ghost monster, etc).

That was the proper way to deal with female villians like some 20-30 years ago, but they changed that rule some time over the passed decade or so. Now it doesn't matter who's male or female just as long as good conquers evil!

Boy! Did I enjoy this weeks episode! But I was just stoked to see anything new at all. And I really liked their new liar, too. I'm so sad that it's gone. Karai's all "Trash the whole thing" and I was crying as if were my own home or something. (not litterally crying, but, you know). And Mike's all "My battle Nexis Trophy!" and I was like "No! The entertainment system!" at the sime time. I'm so sad that entertainment system is gone. It was so awesome. I was also sad Splinter lost his orb. And Mike was the last one out because he had to get his kitty. Aww.... And I really don't understand how Karai thinks. I mean, when the Shredder WAS around, she was all about going behind his back to save innocent people. That's not honoring your Master, Karai. But then, when he IS gone, she's all 'do as my master did' garbage. What the heck? I think she's just messed up in the head a bit. And I also thought it was a bit ironic in Beijing episode when she said something to the affect of "If your father strayed from the path, would you still follow him?" In a way, we got an answer to what the turtles would do if Splinter became evil. Remember Mike's comic book world where they were all super heros? Splinter was evil, but did they go with him? No, they fought him. Personally, I think more honor would come from taking down your master when he strays--not letting anyone else do it--then blindly following as he falls. But I'm also not too familiar with Bishido and the like. That's just my personal opinion. Anyway, I'm sure all of us are really eager to see what kind of person Leo is now and how he's going to handle this new situation. Though I do believe April already knows what happened and that the turtles were alive. When Karai visited her, she was like "oh, their wall hangy." not "No! THey're dead?!" SOOOOOO excited to see the next part! >.<

Yes, I'm glad she got off the fence, too. She made up her mind one way, or the other. Thing is, Leo could see through her indecisive behavior a long time ago.

Nice episode. Though I think Karai is blowing this way out of proportion, ya know? I mean she is trying to kill the Turtles and Splinter just because they helped the Utroms exile him? He's not even dead. Karai has obviously had too much alone time. Sometimes that'll make ya crazy. Sad to see the lair get destroyed, but it'll be cool to see where they go now. I'm thinking they'll probably go to the good old farm for awhile once again (if they're alive..). Where else could they go? Maybe they'll hide by going 99 years into the future...

Oh my God this epsode delivered some amount of shock, I could NOT believe the turtles had their place trashed again! Like, this place was really lived-in, it was cool, it used to belong to the Alintians..., now it's completely wrecked! I was also worried about Mikey's trophy, LOL, then Ivey reminded me, 'What about Splinter's orb' and I was like, 'Oh yeah, that,'
And at the end I knew the guys must have survived even though they really looked like they had been beaten, I knew Leo was going to be pizza'ed RIGHT off the bat when he returned. I actually hated Karai after this episode and couldn't wait for her to get what was coming to her.

Mirage episode information - With ninjaturtles.com getting a make over soon and us not knowing what is going to be there, I am going to copy the text here to keep it safe for those who want to read what Mirage put on the site. Doing this for each of the episodes.
"Scion of the Shredder" Written by Eugene Son Original Air Date: February 4, 2006[/b] Supervising Producer: Lloyd Goldfine Producers: Gary Richardson, Frederick U. Fierst, Al Kahn, Norman Grossfeld, Thomas Kenney Supervising Director: Roy Burdine Story Editor: Lloyd Goldfine MAJOR CHARACTERS: Donatello (Sam Regal) Leonardo (Michael Sinterniklaas) Michelangelo (Wayne Grayson) Raphael (John Campbell) SECONDARY CHARACTERS: Master Splinter Karai Foot Ninjas Foot Mechs (Shrednaughts) April O'Neil MAIN LOCATIONS, VEHICLES AND ACCESSORIES: Turtles' Lair Streets of New York City Hudson River April's antique shop Shell Sub Ninja Sleds (personal subs) Turtle Tunneler Battle Shell Synopsis: Intro: Donatello narrates as we open with the Shell Sub being pursued by Foot scuba ninjas beneath the Hudson River. Don and Splinter are in the sub and as they speed past various explosions, they suddenly find themselves completely surrounded by the Foot. Act 1: Open in the Turtle Lair. Don, Raph, and Mike ask Splinter when Leo will be return from his training mission with the Ancient One (it's now been two months since he's been gone). Splinter states that there is no way of knowing, they'll just have to remain patient. Cut to Leonardo as he meditates with the Ancient One. The Ancient One is startled by a vision of the Shredder's claws and he tells Leo that he must go as his family is in grave danger. Back at the Turtle Lair, Don’s security alarm system goes off - but it abruptly shuts down. This event bewilders the brainy Turtle as only his computer has the capability to turn off the alarms once they've gone off - unless someone has disabled them manually! Suddenly a group of Foot ninjas and two large Foot Mechs crash through the front door. Master Splinter and the Turtles begin to battle their uninvited guests and soon discover that the Foot are much stronger and faster than ever before. Our heroes realize that they’re outnumbered and overpowered and begin to back off. Just then, in a cloud of dust, the Shredder arrives with a cadre of Elite Guard! Act 2: As the Shredder enters, Splinter and the Turtles can’t believe what they’re seeing. To their surprise, it isn’t the original Shredder, but Karai wearing his armor. The Shredder's scion has come back to avenge the loss of her master (who was banished to an icy asteroid in deep space back in Episode 78). With that, the Foot attack even more forcefully. Don, Mikey, and Raph battle various Foot ninjas and the destructive Foot Mechs while Splinter faces off with Karai. Karai claws the rodent's shoulder and then knocks him senseless. She then lifts him into the air and poises to deliver the killing blow. Act 3: As Karai prepares to finish Splinter, Donatello leaps and kicks her away from his Sensei. The Turtles decide to split up and get out of the lair. Don and Splinter jump into the Shell Sub, but as soon as they reach the Hudson River, we see that there are numerous Foot soldiers in scuba gear piloting personal subs that give chase. Mikey and Klunk (his cat) escape in the Turtle Tunneler with a Foot Mech in hot pursuit. Raph retreats into the elevator to the warehouse garage (along with three Foot ninjas that he must battle). Raphael barely makes it into the Battle Shell because more Foot are waiting topside, but he manages to escape and careens down the city streets. Inside the lair, Karai orders her soldiers to destroy what is left of the domicile. Act 4: Cut to Don and Splinter in the Shell Sub. As they make their way through the water, the group of Foot scuba soldiers follow on their Ninja Sleds. The Shell Sub is seriously outgunned, so Donatello has to come up with a plan. The mutant tries to take the upper hand in the battle by briefly burying the sub in the sediment on the river's floor - once the pursuing Foot arrive above the Shell Sub's position, the vehicle jettisons from its position and sends the Foot reeling. Unfortunately the tactic is only a short-term solution and the villains soon reorganize and launch a new attack. The Foot fire their torpedoes into the fleeing ship and the Shell Sub begins to sink and then explodes. One of the Foot radios Karai and informs her that Donatello and Splinter have been destroyed. As Raph speeds down the street in the Battle Shell he is pursued by a Foot helicopter. The chopper launches two missiles that hit the Battle Shell, causing it to crash and burst into flames. The Foot pilot radios Karai and informs her that Raph has been eliminated. Meanwhile, Mikey continues to flee from the Foot Mech inside the Turtle Tunneler. As the Turtle recklessly rips through the sewers and subway tracks, the Foot Mech flies after him. The Mech launches missiles from its mini-cannon that decimate the Tunneler. The Mech pilot surveys the vehicle as it burns, radios Karai and announces that Michelangelo is finished. Cut to April in her shop the next morning. April stands at the counter as a mysterious stranger walks in. The visitor is Karai and she tells April to give Leonardo a message: the rest of the Turtles and Splinter are dead. With that, Karai gives April a sign that she picked up from the lair earlier and leaves. It's the "Sewer Sweet Sewer" sign, charred and battered.
