Well, we were right, the episode title was "Adventures in Turtle Sitting". Figured we had already started the discussion here, so we might as well continue it here, huh? This episoide is on Disk two of Season 4, two disk set. A little different this time, the spoilers won't be happening for a bit. Like, about 7 pages in, I think. In the 4Kids Show we will be posting spoilers about the show. From our favorite scenes, to what happened to what characters and what mistakes did you catch in the show? So if you're not one for spoilers and have not seen this one yet, Don't read it. Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Spoiler! Here's the episode description from back in February...how close was it? In the 100th episode of the show, Casey and April, friends of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, find themselves Turtle-sitting what appears to be a very ill Donatello. However, they soon learn that Don isn't merely sick; he's actually in the final stages of a secondary mutation that will transform him into a savage beast... with an appetite for Turtle-sitters!
In my original post, which I've seriously edited, I had commented that I was worried this was going to be like the 'red sky' mutations from the old series. How different is it? You decide...
Let the further discussions continue!

ACK NO! *hides* Please... please don't end up anything like that I really really hope that this doesn't end up at all like that, I really really hope that it doesn't. I trust these writters and I hope 4Kids don't do like CBS did, I don't think they will. Here's hoping... *frowns at the idea of this* Can't we tell them that we've "Been there, seen that"? *G*

This could be good. This could be bad. It's like the whole Fast Forward thing. That's a whole another topic that scares me....but that would be for another thread.
If this beastly change doesn't last too long, then maybe it would be interesting. If it brings out good stuff from the other characters. April has a science background in this new Toon, after all.... Buuuuut, if it's just "thrashing Don" without any good story to it, then it's certainly nothing by way of character development and that would be highly disappointing.
Considering the quality effort put into the Leo character devlopment arc, and other work done this season--like April and Casey's deepening relationship, Mike and his personal growth in defending his Battle Nexus Champion title, Karai's changes, etc. I would hate to see things just go downhill of "Don Smash!" I want to see the other characters get good, solid, quality time.
Poor Don....we might want to start making get well cards?

Egadz. What sort of lesson, if any, have they learned from the last season of the first toon series? Didn't it kind of wash out after that? I didn't watch much of it, I didn't like to see the turtles mutating into grotesque things, every time they so much as sneezed, or whatever. Agreed, if it's a temporary thing, which I suspect it is, and if it attributes Don and other characters with further personal growth, then, all right, it's forgivable. As if I know what is going to happen yet... just the idea bothers me. Bah.

Could be worse...they coulda done it to Raph. <G>
Kidding...I agree that this is just like the Fast Forward storyline...could be good, or could go south really fast. It'll be really hard to watch this episode without envisioning the latter portion of the CBS series, that's for sure.
Maybe Don gets bitten by one of the bugs in this week's episode and that triggers this new mutation? Heh, trying to come up with an explanation of why Casey & April are babysitting a very sick Don...where are the others? Off trying to find a cure? Avoiding catching whatever Don has? Mutating in private?

Mutating Raph... didn't they do that in the present comics series? Actually, he looks kind of kewl, though I don't like the idea of him being that way permanently. Or Don being 5 inches tall. Or Mikey having some of his pearly whites knocked out. Leo got off scot free in that story.

Mutating in private? LOL That's so wrong.
Leo got off "scot free"? Is that supposed to be a Highlanderesque joke along a hidden along the lines of a "Duncan MacLeo" there?
hmmm I agree that this could be the start of a Don arc, with tomorrow's episode.

The mutating in private remark had me ROFL. Trust Raph to come up with such witticisms. Leo, I don't know where the phrase 'scot free' came from, but I had not meant it to be a reference to Highlander! Very clever of you, sah. Hehe. Duncan MacLeo is alive and well. And still in one piece. So's his kilt.

FINALLY! I've been hearing rumors of a "monster Donnie" episode for a long, LONG time. So I guess this means it wasn't just a rumor. I saw reserve judgement until this storyline actually comes around before deciding if you like it or not. This could be the writer's trying to give Donnie more character developement and screen time. That's what I'm hoping for anyway *crosses fingers*

I mean come on, atleast it's alot better than Oroku Saki turning out to be an evil red Utrom!

Those who went to today's panel with Mike S. got a little hint towards what's going on with Donatello... so I'm not as worried now. Infact I'm a bit relieved. It's not like the Red Sky, I'll say that. And Jephael, I'd rather have Shredder as an Ultrom in every version of TMNT than face anything to do with the red sky series. To me, Red Sky is worse than the Power Ranger cross over with the TMNT. I really really did not like anything about the Red Sky series. I'll watch, because of Turtles... but I will rather watch Turtle Tunes, We Wish you a Turtle Christmas, and the Power Ranger cross over any day.

It's fun to see the differences of opinion, isn't it? I place Red Sky above the various Turtle Tunes and Next Mutation/Power Rangers crossover.
At least we now know why Don is the one doing the mutating. My guess is that April & Casey end up baby sitting 'cause the others have gone after Bishop. (*looks at fingers*) Whose name is, apparently, harder to type than one might think...

I only have so much vacation time in a year, I'm using the majority of it when Mystic comes to visit and we go to Anime Next.

Yeah! I know lots of stuff, but you think I'm going to tell you? You have to pay me, first! Information doesn't come free! I have to earn a living, here! In case anyone even suspects me of being serious, I am not.
