Odds are you've seen this already, I've posted it everywhere. But since I don't really draw beyond some doodles I've been trying to find other ways to make TMNT fanart and photography is my thing. (The full size image is on my DeviantArt account, username: onnwufei)

Great pic, onna! I like the way you framed it. I wonder if there would be a way to make them look less plastic and more realistic, maybe take off the plastic line on Leo's arm or something. Also the grass is large and makes the Leos look miniature, but there's not much you can do about that. Is this a scene from the Tales issues where Leo meets his younger self?

No particular scene really, just y'know... something going on. I've been told it looks more like toddler Leo is leading older Leo than older Leo protecting toddler. I just think it's cute.
What bugs me the most is the glare from the sun. I could possibly get rid of the seams, but I don't know if my photoshop skills are quite that good just yet. I think I'm stuck with the glare though. Maybe I should try to take it again on a cloudy day.

Aww, that's such a sweet image! Very nicely done. BTW, I think the glare from the sun isn't as bad as you make it out to be. If anything you shot it in just the right way. If you had shot it closer to noon though, I could see it being a problem.

Thank you! I think the reason the glare bugs me the most is it's most prominant on their bandanas which shouldn't glare. *L* Buuut oh well. Really I didn't even plan it out I just plunked them down, sprawled out on the (wet) grass and started taking pictures.

Action figure pics are so much fun! Nice job, I agree!
My two cents on whether to alter the photo to clean up "action figureness" is only if you want to make art that "looks more real". If you want to retain that fun element of "art with action figures", then leave it alone. It's great just as it is.
I've been taking action figure along on trips and to events for some years now. I did a lot of it with the Lord of the Rings events, taking a Frodo and Legolas, and sometimes Sam (if the person who usually took Sam wasn't going/didn't take him). And occasionaly some others depending on the occasion. I have pics of them in Toronto at a Con, on top of Half Dome, at Mt St Helens, at the Oscar parties, at Brandywine Falls in Ohio.... And I have some Leo in some places too, like San D Con, the Japanese Gardens in Portland, Superstition Mountain in AZ....
Keep doing it!
My favorite part is when we've set up figures somewhere, like Sam, Frodo, and Gollum with Yosemite Falls in the background, and people come along. They either think you're a total freak. They grin and find it great fun. Or the best part, when they actually start getting involved and offering to help or start suggesting ideas or talking about the media the figures are from with you.

That is actually really encouraging. Most of the time there isn't anyone around when I'm taking my action figure pictures, but I get a lot of weird looks when taking my balljoint doll pictures.
