Since everyone's been posting about the various cons and events coming up, I figured I'd post one, too.

It's not a big con, just a small local one, though it's grown since I first started going back in late 98-99. They've actually moved it from the original hotel/convention center it was in to a building on the state fairgrounds, so that's gotta mean something. ;P
Takes place at...
Education Building
1372 Cosgrove Avenue
St. Paul, MN 55108
Goes from 10 am to 5 pm on both Saturday, October 8th, and Sunday, October 9th, and admission is $9 for both days(they give you these little wristbands to wear if you want to come and go as you please without having to repay admission the next day), but it's $8 if you bring a canned food donation for the local foodshelf.
I'm not sure of the guests that are there, we've never had anyone really big that I can recall considering this is a very small convention, at least nobody I could recognize off the top of my head. Nobody Turtles related, save for one of the Image crew back in 99(and I forget which one of the guys it was, too, it was that long ago, sorry!), but they ended up cancelling, so...unfortunately no VAs here.

But hey, it's still fun, there's lots of Turtle goodies that we've found, lots of comics and occasionally old school trading cards and toys.
It's also across the street from a comic shop called the Source that we visit every time we're in the area, so that's kinda neat, too, a comic shop right near a comic con. ;P
They've got a website listed, too, which'll be of better help than I can be 'cause I'm not terribly familiar with the area enough like I was Bloomington to be able to say where all the hotels are. They've got a list on their site, and they give good discounts for people booking for the Con, which is nice.
http://www.MNCBA.comWhen you first click on that, it might give you some little popup thing asking to put in a username and password, uh, just click cancel and ignore it, it still takes you to the page, or it did me at least. That might be their way of trying to get you on their mailing list, the flyer mentions that.
I'll be there both days with Earl, usually there bright and early on Saturday morning to get a good spot in line, since they don't preorder tickets, far as I know. We've always bought 'em at the door, and get there at 9:30ish or something to get a good parking spot and not have to wait in a line to China for our admission.
And about parking, it's kinda weird out there on the Fairgrounds. They don't really have any parking lots(they DO, but they're not open for the con, just the fair, far as I know), it's all street parking, so you kinda just have to drive around and find a spot. They have some right across the street from the Education Building, but most of those are for the guests and dealers and such.
Sometimes if you're lucky, you can get a spot down the street on that row, but it's pretty rare, those are usually reserved for guests, so, heh, don't be surprised if you have to park a couple blocks away for a spot, 'cause that's just how weird the parking is there. The con's been held on the fairgrounds for about three or four years and I've parked pretty far myself, even as early as we get there, so, heh, it's ok.

If there's anything else I can think of, I'll amend this post, but that should be it.
