Welcome to September 2005 Old series comic of the Month.   This section will go from Mirage Vol. 1, Mirage Vol. 2, Archie, Image and Dreamwave comics.   As long as it's TMNT, it can be picked as the comic of the Month.  If you'd like a comic featured here, please PM me and we'll plan it out for the following Month.  I'll help with making sure the topic is sticky and the cover the comic is posted in the post.   (If you have an idea for next month's comic please PM me.  I'll put the comic requests in the orders that they come in.).

*  4Kids did an issue off of this comic called "Cousin Sid"  It is show one of season 4. *

Tales of the
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Volume 1, #1

In this comic the Turtles, April and Casey are all at the Farm house.  Little did they know they were going to get company as Casey Jone's Cousin Sid comes to visit.   Sid has brought some friends, and is on a mad treasure hunt, as Casey's Grandfather use to tell a story about how he was a Train Robber and got away with a LOT of cash.  Casey never believed this story, but Sid said "X marks the Spot" was their Grandfathers last words.

Through the comics the Turtles sercetly help take down Cid's gang... as Casey handles Cid himself.   There's a lot of good jokes, fights, and even some serious moments in this comic.

Have you read this comic, if so what was your favorite parts and what did you think of the art in this issue?  Please post anything you'll like about this issue here.

TMNTGal sent me a copy of that issue about a year ago and it became one of my favorite stories ever! I'll have to read it again though cause I don't have it memorized too well.

Heh I didn't have it memorized too well either... though as soon as I saw "Cousin Sid" on the DVD, I remembered that was a comic book story... than it hit me which comic.  I found that funny, because when I went to see Peter at Toronto Con I brought that issue along with me to be autographed.  Peter, Steve and Jim autographed it for me.

When I do those trips, I try to bring stuff for everyone to sign, so I go through my comic collection and grab at least one thing for each of the guys to sign per a day.  Peter ends up signing the most for me, cause he can sign anything TMNT he wants.  Wink

Tales of the Turtles #1 was a cute beginning to a 7 issue run. Nothing really spectacular or Earth-shattering happened, just a little tale with Casey's brother on the Northampton farm trying to locate a missing fortune.

Cool to see a living relative of Casey's and maybe even getting a peak at the dynamics that his childhood may have been like, even if you kind of have to look into things.
