Well, it could have been better. Thirty minutes just isn't enough when it comes to dramatic, end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it cliffhangers. To fit it in the time slot, the episode felt very rushed in parts, especially during the final battle sequence. More could have been done, but the clock was ticking, heh, both for the show and what was going on in it! The rest of the episode was okay. The guys were rather slow and not full of much action. I'll admit I had visions of the Michael Dooney piece when Leo slung Renet over his shoulder to get her away! Wonder if that was in mind? And I guess Mikey should have watched "Jurassic Park" more than two times to realize those dinos are meat-eaters and could care less about boring potato chips! As for the very end, it's hard to believe the guys returned at the exact moment they left April. Being three months gone and doing much change to the past, things would be very different in the future. From the very start of Don sneezing on a dino, there'd be quite a bit of a difference. At least, I would think so!
And no real preview for the 100th episode! Sooooo disappointed!

You're a good friend, Brina and I hate to disagree with you but I thought this episode had more than enough time to successfully tell the story. I mean lets face it, the turtles were only facing one villian this time around so it wasn't much of a showdown like the ones they've had with Shredder.
As for altering the past, I never thought the turtles' interaction with the dinosaurs would mean any threat to the timeline, atleast not as much as what Savanti was going to do. However, I couldn't help but wonder if Leo chopping down those plants might've had a major effect somewhere.

I guess I should add what I felt rushed about is it seems there's more commerical time then the actual show. Right when it comes back, there's about four minutes of the show, and then it's at a stupid commercial again! I really can't enjoy an episode, or even feel I got something out of it, due to all those commercial breaks. I think that's what I meant. And if you think about it, the show isn't even a full thirty minutes because of the commericals, so then we have even LESS of a show. You know what I mean?

Too bad they don't have 30 minutes non-stop show like they do music on some radio channels...
I liked it-- I would have liked it better if Splinter had been in it, but on the whole I liked it. It could have stood a tweak here and there story-line/wise, but on the whole it was pretty much like the original comic, and I'm not one to worry about those things like timelines and affecting the future.
Who's to say they didn't, and what is their lives now is a result? That's the trouble with all that time travel stuff... that's why I ignore it.
Oh, I finally got a copy of Shell Shock, and there is a lovely short where they're still living there in the past, and Mikey is chipping something into a rock. They ask him what he's doing and he says "giving a future archaeologist a heart attack"-- he had carved a heart with Fred loves Wilma in it.

I don't really have much to say about either part 1 or 2 of this story. It was fine, I was entertained. But I wanted to comment on the outfits for some reason. First of all, we get the turtles all bundled up at the museum in part one. And noooOOOoo, they don't look suspicious at all. And even while I did think they looked cute, they also kinda looked like stalkers and pedophiles to me. Though, if you took away their scarves and added bling-bling, they would have looked like rappers! But that might just be me At the end of this two parter, we got everyone in prehistoric gear. Way cool! Renet looked better as a jungle babe that a timestress. I mean, I know that outfit came from the comic, but is is SOOO bad! Couldn't they have possibly tried to fix it up in the cartoon? She also looks skinnier without that costume, don't you think? And the turtles with their bone necklaces and vine belts and what not. A lot of things they were wearing didn't seem to practical, but I thought they looked so cute! Anyway, that's it from me. Eager to see next week's 100 ep. Woot!

It was a rather puzzling episode, though I enjoyed how Don looked good again, hehe... probably to build up more sympathy from the audience so that there's be more of an impact when he turns into a mean thingie. The big question I have to ask is: How is it Leo couldn't cut through the chains holding Renet to the arch of bones, but Don could break them with a tap of his bo? Must be a magic stick...

I mean for one thing Don, Mike and Raph were all wearing the thuggush getups Angel gave them in episode 8 while Leo had on the trenchcoat and hat he wore during his trek to Japan so it's not like they really had a choice on the matter. Though I guess April could've bought them some more average looking disguises like the sweaters and pants they used to wear all the time on the original comics.

While I enjoyed this episode...there were parts I just went-huh?! Mikey and the chips was funny, although part of me wishes to hear about flavors when Mikey pulls out chips--out of amusement for the long-running chip spoofing in #tmnt on IRC. But--so much for Mikey's plan. I did think it was amusing. And nice to see that Leo is not always perfect, not always ready right away with a perfect plan. That makes it more realistic. However, the fight on top of the bone structure with Savanti? Er...yeah. So these four have fought a lot of villains since ep 1, learned a lot along the way, improved themselves. You've even got a "Battle Nexus Champion" in there --and they were pathetic. I realize Savanti wasn't just a pushover, and was going to be a challenge to defeat--but still...that fight was not the best. ugh. And the ultimate? As a Nardo I can't help but have groaned out loud: Leo tries to cut chains with a sword?! I agree with the comments about this and how Don just baps them off with his bo in one blow. But where did Savanti get chains? Considering he didn't have much else around him made of metal, I found it odd he just forged chains only. While I can believe he has blacksmith/forging skills or maybe he made them from his magic--I could let having the chains go. But NOT Leo trying to cut them with his sword! <wince> Otherwise, I thought the two episodes were a fun romp with the old Tales issue. Including the camping scenes at the end. And I did enjoy the character interractions throughout the two-parter. Lastly--Mikey has a new challenger for great screams--Renet! They were perfect for the character. Especially the one where she wakes up to see Savanti. Loved it!

It was a pretty good two-parter. I don't remember everything about the comic issue of it, but I do remember Renet being tied to it at the top, and yes that Leo with Renet over his shoulder pic by Dooney has Brina mentioned, That sorta happened earlier in the ep tho. I can't say I was blown away by it (gawd, now I sound like Randy Jackson on American Idol, lol!) But it was fun, esp. being in the dino world. I admit the commercials are way too much. With so little air time with all those dang commercials, I'm surprized they don't 'cut out' more scenes when it's broadcasted. And what I mean by that is with the Original Series, when it aired on USA Networks anyway, the eps had to be shortened so they cut some scenes out, which are now on the dvds. On the first two FB/4K dvds that came out, they seemed full length with no cut scenes, so that's good.
One other thing that bugs me in general with the 4K series is that I don't always like the beginning ep previews, because sometimes it spoils the ep. I mean, do they always havta have that spoiler at the beginning? Sometimes I've fast-forwarded thru those.
I'm more waiting for the 100th ep. As I told Brina recently, the whole Don-mutating more reminds me of the 'Red Sky' eps where all of them mutated into those dino-looking, big turtles!

I never even realized Savanti somehow just acquired chains..., I thought it was funnier how, Leo couldn't saw through them but Don could break them with his Bo staff. I just thought that was funny. Well this episode was all right, I laughed at the part where Mikey tried his potato chip trick again, and even harder when Don pointed out they're meat-eaters. Well, no more chips now, he was also quite amusing, climbing up the dinosaur bones and hating it, Other than that, I found it interesting they lived there for over three months and Renet eventually ditched out outfit in the end for rags. It was interesting to see what she looked like without her head-gear. It also got me thinking..., three months, SOMETHING should have happened! Well, that's how I see it...,

On every messageboard I've went on, everyone's mentioned that. It is rather funny. But then again Leo was slowly trying to saw thru the chains wheras Don like hit them hard with the bo staff. If Leo had been hitting them harder the chains would also have broken.
