It was purposed.... I actually saw a clip from an episode at a panel hosted by Stan Sakai at Animenorth last year..... it sadly wasn't that good of a cartoon and was never made.

I also asked Mr. Sakai about Usagi getting his own cartoon sense he rocks on Turtles and could support his own series and he didn't seem very interested in the prospect.... oh well....  Confused

Yes, Stan has a number of interesting clips he shows at the Cons when he has a panel.
There's the Space Usagi cartoon that was dropped, partly because of what happened with Bucky O Hare around that time.
There's some stuff from video games, including one that has Usagi kicking Leo's butt that had my group of friends giving me grief over for quite some time. (Hey! It was a staged combat to highlight Usagi only!  Happy/Smile )
Obviously, the best Usagi looked on screen, is the new TMNT Toon.
A lot of the UY fans would love to see a Usagi-based cartoon, but as Stan said, he's not that active in working out such a thing. The Hollywood/tv-world is a pretty murky place to wade through. It's a wonder anything gets off the ground and onto the tv, when you hear people from comics talk about what did or did not happen with their stuff.

Thanks for showing this clip, looks like a show I would of watched Wink  Since I really like Usagi Very Happy/Big Grin   Though the voice throws me a bit off, I'm so use to the 4Kids TMNT version now.  *G*

Stan visited my class in Feb. and showed us that clip.  One of my boys asked why they didn't go on and make the show, and he said that part of it was you need to get a toy company interested as well, and they didn't have that.

I liked the clip for an upcoming TMNT game version for the Playstation-- it was a rough cut, but it looked AWESOME-- better than the other one-- and Leo and Usagi were facing off again-- Leo knocked Usagi down, then offered him his hand to help him up.
