Heh, sometimes the Ramones can express how one feels so absolutely and perfectly. 45 degrees? Is that Celsius or Farenheit?

Depends on what the weather is there right now. Likely Fahrenheit. Sedated? How about acupuncture?

Yeah, 45 celsius is an oddity even at the height of summer...pretty much unheard of in October. We're a little warmer than 45 farenheit today, though. No, think I pass on letting someone stick me with needles...

The internet is a strange beast. You can find out pretty much anything you want, if you know where to look. See, I went to look up an old friend from many years ago, found out not only his address, but also his home phone, his wife's name, where he works, who he works for, and Google maps pointed out his house, which you can view by aerial photo and street view. That was rather a lot more than I expected... but get this. It also offered, for a fee, to give me info on how much money he makes, his birth date and pretty much what he's been doing the last 5 years. That pretty much changes the conversations at reunions from, "Hi, what have you been up to these past 5 years?" to "Wait, don't tell me, let me look it up..." Then again, the good side of this is one can engage in a daily chat with one's son who is on a remote outpost in a very distant country.

Yes, I imagine you're quite pleased to be able to chat with your son these days. The internet definitely has had its advantages...
Although it's kinda freaky that you could find out that much info on your old friend...

Wow, things have slowed down here - in 6 months, we've only made 570 or so posts. Guess I'm not as chatty as I'd thought.

Early? Hardly...you Americans are a month and a half late with yours. And, yes, I need to babble more, apparently... Good thing my name isn't Brooke.

Conform? Do I LOOK like a conformist? Babble on what? By the rivers of babble-on. Were I named Brooke, I'd be a babbling Brooke. Nightflight to Venus....

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Raph. *would put turkey emoticon but I can't find it because the emoticon page never loads properly* Yeah, it's good to hear from my son, but sometimes there's a little too much info for mom to know. "Hi mom, we hit a 400 lb IED the other day. The explosion lifted our 23 ton MRAP (very big armored vehicle) 10 feet into the air, but we all walked away from it... we're fine." Ah well. Boys will be boys.

Ooh, yeah, I can see how that sort of info might be a bit much...
And I looked but didn't see a turkey smiley...
or any smiling turkeys....
I suppose most turkeys don't really feel like smiling around Thanksgiving...

I think there was a turkey on there somewhere. I dunno. Maybe if turkeys saw this in a more positive light... After all, one major holiday is centered around them... otherwise they'd be just big, funny looking, mundane birds, like chickens.
