Quote from: Mike, thinking he's Donatello
New Question:

Do you use a computer in only one place in your house or do you have more than one area where you'll sit with a computer?

Depends what I'm using the computer for. I can do work on my 2nd laptop so long as I don't need the internet. Unfortunately, due to an old DSL Modem (that won't store my internet protocols properly or something), my wireless internet doesn't work so I can only use the internet on the computer in the basement. It's a royal pain in the butt...but there's nothing I can do about it, unless I get a new modem from Bell. Or get something like fibre op internet...

Aside from popping online for a few seconds, I seldom access the internet on my iPod Touch, when I'm out of the house, especially if I'm with someone else.

Oh, now, don't be comparing your weather with here. This place is one of the most weather-neutral places that I know of. I'm entitled to cheer on a bit of precipitation. Let me have my moment!!   LOL

...Eh well, it wasn't much, but it did wash the dust off the car. Good.  Very Happy/Big Grin

Yes, good old Greek coffee. Learned about it at the Greek fest last year. Rather a bit like Turkish coffee, only that has cardamom.
I prefer mine with cinnamon.  Love

Fugitoid, I didn't get the Windex-coffee correlation... Explain? Very Happy/Big Grin

Holy frak, yesterday's traffic was bad going home.

However, the traffic at 6:30am...great.

I, like most people here I'm sure, hope this transit strike is over sooner...rather than later.

The Windex thing is from the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Pretty good flick. The father uses Windex as the liquid equivalent of duct tape. So I was just making an obscure reference of the Greek/Windex thing from the movie. Not so much the coffee. Heh.

Oh! no wonder. I haven't seen it. LOL

Raph, it seems to remind one of the purpose of a strike... to show the world what life is like without them so that people appreciate them more, and clamor to get their needs met. Whatever those needs are. I can vividly recall the sanitation worker's strike in NYC that lasted for... weeks...  Dead/Dying Sick
When it was over, I stopped grumbling at the noise of the trucks and metal cans being tossed around at 4 am.

Well, the weather was better today. We had cloudy skies this morning, but the sun came out in the afternoon, which was a good thing.

There are a number of issues behind the strike, both sides are coming across badly to the public (but it seems the public is complaining more about the union).  Either way, yesterday's talks didn't seem to do any good.

Wow. I always thought unions were a good thing for workers, and I still do at some points. It's why I'm so upset that the Right To Work bill passed in Indiana. It's just such a disservice to unions.

Knowing very little about unions, I've no opinion one way or the other. In fact, in most things political, I've no opinion one way or the other. My opinion isn't going to contribute much to society as it is.

Ahem. That said, I'll now say this: When something has too much power, it upsets the balance. I'm thinking unions have 'jumped the shark', in a manner of speaking, and seem to be edging more and more into a socialist agenda. Which unsettles some folks, makes them grumpy. Then again, there's always a group of people out there who are grumpy. This is one reason why I don't pay much attention to the television. Or the news media. *draws a moustache in permanent marker on all their collective upper lips* There. Done.

"You know, it's true that while there is a great deal of moral purpose on the side of the unions, they do tend to want a stranglehold."

Unions can be good, but they can also take things too far.  For instance, it can be darned near impossible to fire someone once they've been hired...even if they're fairly incompetent at their job.

Some potentially bad weather coming this weekend - should be fun, especially with the Transit strike.

And possibly university strike...water utility strike...and, worse yet, beer brewery strike.  Wink

This sort of thing does make it hard to favour unions....

Yeah, I agree it can be a bad thing if your union isn't strong or if it isn't for the people. I agree about politics, Aig. I just don't care anymore and want nothing to do with them. Then again, I never cared in the first place and don't intend to for the most part. I only watch the news to get the weather, and that's it.

Supposed to get lake effect snow this afternoon and tomorrow.

Couldn't have said it better, Raph.  Happy/Smile

Can't seem to wake up today. Probably won't wake up until nightfall... sigh... :p
