Wireless keyboard... well, no, I tend to just use a notebook PC. I would like wireless peripherals though. Wires drive me nuts. Fire stories. Hmm. (Raph, I'm glad you are an accountant and not a chemist, as well. Really.) Years ago in Maine, on a fine subzero evening, I noticed a red glow against my living room wall. I turned and looked out my kitchen window and noticed the neighbor's barn had gone up in flames, about 20 yards from the building I was in. In between that was a 100 gallon kerosene storage tank and some pine trees. I grabbed my infant daughter up in a quilt, stepped into my boots, and ran outside. People called, the fire trucks came, the water from the hose froze in midair and turned into snow, the barn was covered in a mass of icicles and then the fire went out. Mostly because the barn quickly burned down to the frame and fortunately there was no wind. Some kids had been sneaking a smoke in the barn. Another time while driving on I-95 though Jacksonville FL early one rainy morning, some friends and I saw a gasoline tanker truck had crashed on an overpass. The cab had broken off and fallen to the ground in a heap. The tanker part hung off the edge of the overpass, and spouted huge flames out one end. It was surreal. No one else was around. The highway and cloverleafs were deserted, being a Sunday morning. There was no way we could reach the area under the overpass. We drove on, and by time we found a place to pull off to call 911, they said they were already responding to the accident. Never did find out what happened to the driver.

Holy frak, Aig, that neighbour's barn situation sounds frightening. Glad it didn't turn out to be more serious.
And, yeah, also glad that I opted out of chemistry as my way of living. *G*

Reminds me... many years ago a friend of mine closed the school down for a couple of days because of something that happened in chemistry class. I think it had to do with an acid spill.

Now that my rent is officially paid via a paper check as opposed to theoretically paid via website... being that theoretically doesn't necessarily mean it actually was paid paid, and so I was hit with a late fee, but the website is apparently to blame and so the late fee has been waived... *waves paper receipt for this month and is therefore cleared of any potential accusations of nonpayment of rent* So, I think it's best to waltz down there to therental office on my real feet to pay with a real paper check and get a real receipt like this one, from now on. However, the online bill pay system is handy if I happen to be away when the first of the month rolls around, I'm just not going to schedule these alleged pre-arranged monthly payments online any more. So exciting.

Hmm...oddly enough, I don't hear any fish either.
Don't have any Chinese characters showing up when I type, either.
Still too bright in here, though.

And I'm glad to hear you got your rent situation straightened out, Aig. Once again, technology proves how much of a pain it can be when it doesn't behave how it's supposed to.

* Aignatius hands Raph some Ha yeah, they called this morning to ask me if I had deleted my auto pay account and I said I preferred to go back to paying with a check. I think they want me to pay online because it cuts down on their paperwork. The manual online pay thing works okay, so i'll go with that. I get an email receipt, so maybe that will be the compromise. Had a riproaring storm last night and then this morning woke to a cloudless blue sky and now sun is screaaming in through the patio door... eeeah!
