Gone for the weekend!

Hiya everyone,

Heading off to IL to see the TMNT at two different Toys R Us this weekend.  I'll give a report about the show and how things go after I return.  I'll also get video and pictures of the Turtles themselves.   If anyone else is in the area, feel free to check up the two Toys R Us doing shows this Saturday, feel free to say hi.  Here's the link to the Toys R Us Tour topic.

While at the Tour I'm going to get video, pictures, and their autographs.  I'm also going to give each of the Turtles a letter.  The letters will be inviting them here to TMNT-L and giving them my email address as well.   Maybe we'll get some more TMNT guest here on the forum.  I know it'll be interesting if they can join and share us with some of their adventures along the way.

I see how you all are, I say I'm gone for the weekend and you think you get the weekend off too!   I caught you all at your game, and it's only Friday!!!!!!  (Thanks for the help Fae).   So where are you all hiding?  I work so hard to give ya some cools topics for you while I'm away and no one even cares to say... have a safe trip to me...

 On this trip... we got lost... I've gone without food (till about 10:30pm)... and we had the hotel problems from Hell...  (Really there was these evil races in Joliet, IL that booked up all the Hotels!!!  IT was truely evil!).   So when I do get back, I'll have stories to tell even about the trip on the way up here.  And some Turtle photos for that topic in Gerneral Discussion for photos.

Anyhow, maybe I'll say hi in the morning before leaving this hotel.

Hiya all,

Well I liked the hotel that we found, Sleep Inn, when we found it last night.   Though this morning is another story....

Last night when we found it, it was the ONLY place around that wasn't sold out because of the stupid Nascar Races (sorry to any who like nascar, I'm just annoyed right now so this is not to be taken as a bash, just a funk.).   We got in here, I learned of the free internet, I learned I get a bed to myself, and I learned that our tub has jets in it, so it can be our own personal hot tub.  In my head, we had a good fine... though I ignore the one sign of problems...

When I first got on the bed, I was on the phone with Fae, and the question was asked "How are the bed?"  My reply was... "It's a little softer than the wood I sleep on at home"  since right now I HATE my mattress.   Well when night finally came, and it meant going to bed I just learned how true my statement was.  These beds were very hard, infact it was harder to sleep here since I didn't have all of my blankets from  home to pad up the mattress a bit.  My mattress though has a dip in it where it's wearing thin... these were flat like a board... so I thought it'd be better for my back.  Though I woke up hurting... not only that, it was an up and down night... to where my dad even got off the bed and slept on the floor... yup that's how bad these beds were... *sigh*  I'm really disappointed I was hoping for a nights sleep, being away from my bed... this makes about a week and five days since a good nights sleep... I miss the mattresses in Toronto!  

This morning I woke up and took a hot bath, using the jets so I feel better than I did when I first woke up.  Though I'm still disappointed about all that went down today.   Now I'm going to grab my breakfast, and get ready to go see the Turtles at the Joliet Toys R Us,... wonder if anyone else even realizes they're going to be there or if they're all lost up in their nascar races  

If I have internet where ever I go next, I'll make sure to stop in and say hi again.

Heh, those races were prob'ly the ones my Dad was watching on the TV last night.

Bummer the hotel sucks. I've run into those before myself on the road, not knowing where there's any hotels, if they're any good, and being so tired that you don't care, so you choose one and it's missing something like AC(happened once when I was little, none of us slept!), or a good bed(though usually I end up on such hard beds that my joints ache by morning, not the other way around, I'd kill for a SOFT hotel bed ).

But I hope you have fun anyways, despite the sucky hotels.

I prob'ly would've been more active myself if not for Bug Days this weekend. Got set up last night at about 5:30-6 ish and it was, oh, around 95 degrees in town. Blech. Supposed to be warm like that all weekend.

I'm actually running a little late as it is(slept in, oops!), so, heh, yeah, not gonna be here. Working weekend.

But that's ok, looks like pretty much everybody's got plans this weekend. Mebbe if I'm not too tired tonight when we get back(depends on how the selling goes, Saturdays are iffy, Sundays are the selling days, but sometimes it reverses itself), I'll nose around, make some posts.

And I got Earl taping the new ep while we're gone, so maybe I'll make a post about it or find a spoiler post and add to it or something.

Gotta run, hope everyone enjoys their vacations!

That'd be the races... seemed like a huge deal, to everyone but us... *grumble*

Though the beds were not soft, see I compare my bed to wood often, because it really is a hard bed most of the time, it's got so many breaks in it, it's almost like I'm sleeping on the support bars.  Which is why I use blankets to try and make my bed softer, sleeping on top of about 3 comforters.     It helps make it so I can sleep at home, I was hoping for a SOFT hotel bed... my comment last night was saying it is hard, though I sleep on worse at home.   Though at home I can at least pile extra padding on the bed.

We'll be leaving this hotel at least in the next 20 minutes, though I wanted to get online again after breakfast.  It's really nice having the net near me here... I'm glad I'm able to comment and say hi to everyone.

Sorry to hear you had a rough time sleeping... at least the hot tub and the internet *sort of* makes up for it.   But your show you're going to see should make up for that, yes?

Oh how I wish that was true.  I'll be doing an update on it.  *sigh*  Let's just say this weekend was a TOTAL BUST!  I'm not happy with it and got a lot of complaints to write...going to write 4Kids, Mirage and Playmate toys about what happened this weekend.  All the disappointed fans, and the cost that it put so many through for nothing.

Though I'll post about that somewhere else... since I got two different topics I want to do for this trip.

Thanks Jephael... I'm doing ok... still a bit sore on how things went... but I'll give those details a little later.

Any how... just wanted to send another post letting everyone know I'm leaving yet another location and heading somewhere else.  I'm going to my dad's friend's house... who has a computer.  So I should be able to get on there as well.  Though I'll be gone for a few hours away from the internet.
