This Episoide is based off of "Tales of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Volume 1, issue #1"

The Turtles have returned to the Farm house to get some R & R from the final fight with Shredder.  Each of the Turtles are still injuried badly.... though none seems more troubled by this, than Leonardo himself.   As he stares off into the darkness not being there for his family as he's facing an inner anger, deeper than he's faced before.

Casey's cousin Sid comes to the lair to look for some money that their Grandfather got by robbing a train.  Casey tells him that the story was not true, though the Purple Dragon show up to shake Sid around for the cash.  The Turtles have to get rid of the Purple Dragons, so that Casey and April can handle Sid.  Though can the Turtles do that while they're so badly injuried?

Heading out, so I don't have much time for a novel. I'd already seen the episode, since I had the DVD, but today's airing did bring one surprise...and a confirmation.

The DVD does NOT have the new opening theme song! That was a bit of a surprise. I was wondering what they were going to do about the "Watch out for Shredder" part, since Shredder is gone. Personally, I'm glad to see the line go, I really disliked that little bit of character insertion. it never seemed to 'fit', in my mind. Having said that...don't know how I feel about the new bit where they name each of the turtles. Not really my favourite thing to put in any song, theme or otherwise.

And, Mikey?  Next week's episode is not one of the others from the DVD, so it looks like the three season 4 eps on the DVD are not in order. That could mean we'll have quite the wait before people will be able to discuss "Bad Day". Bummer...

Anyway, any thoughts? Talk amongst yourselves till I get back. Wink

*smacks her forehead* I forgot all about it being saturday!

Then again, I did have to worry about that tree that fell into the driveway, narrowly missing my car and blocking my path as I knew I needed to leave for the day. Bleh. Perhaps in reruns I will catch it.

Gravity, of course.  *smirks*

I managed to wake up just in time.  After all the time-slot switcharoo, it's back to the same time it aways is on.  I only tape it when I'm going to be out.. and this Saturday, I wasn't.

Raph sure is picky/grumpy when he's hurt n helpless. I thought it was funny how much he was threatening Mikey to can it. *snicker*  Wink

Arpil can sure 'clean up' too.. woot! Fun ep.  Very Happy/Big Grin

Awesome ep, and the new opening left me with some mixed feelings. For one, I liked the way they actually go through each turtle's name instead of those stupid "rules for fighting" bit. The part at the end with Mikey's line seemed kinda dorky but hopefully they'll be able to come up with something better.

Well, a while back, the garbage truck used our driveway to turn around in(like everyone else) since we're on a dead end street, and apparently it backed right into the tree, splitting it. So, basically, it rotted enough and just collapsed. We have video of it falling from the security camera. heh

Man I gotta see the new theme song, does any one have it captured on computer?  If so, please PM me (this account) and maybe we can arrange sending it through email or something.  I really would like to see the new theme and not have to wait till next Sunday.

Thanks!

And it's really a bummer that the new eps from the DVD are NOT in order with the show... though really it would explain how they healed so fast Wink  (uses the backspace key....  stopped myself from putting a spoiler here that doesn't belong here Michaelangelo )

Unfortunately, I don't even have it taped. Figured it was going to be the same old theme.  By the time I realized that they'd changed some lyrics...well, it was too late. Ahh, well, such is life...

Doing a fast post to get this out of the bottom, don't want it locking again.

Going to talk to Fugitoid about this auto locking that seems to happen.

I loved this ep, actually. Casey's line, "Hey, you c'n still see where I put my fist through the wall when I was a kid!" Was pretty much exactly what Brent said one evening when he was up at his parents' house, where he put a pool-ball through one of their walls. Frightening and scary at the same time. *G*

You know I saw part of this episode because I had to go to the eye doctor's for a checkup and misinterpreted when the ep would be on. I ended up seeing only part of it, but I saw the whole thing the next week when my BF gave me the tape. He's so sweet! What really ticked me off was that my eye was dilated, so everything was blurry! Yes, I said my eye and not my eyes. I have one eye and that's it. Yeah, that was bad.

Despite this, I loved the ep. I was confused as to what was wrong with Leo, but I wanted to give him a big hug. I loved the whole ep and the fact that the Turtles still managed to kick some shell even though they were hurt. I also loved Splinter's part of coming out of the scarecrow and hitting the PD in the groin! That was awesome!

Synopsis:

Intro: Splinter narrates as we see the Turtles and him, battered and bruised, inside an old house. As the Sensei recounts how he and his pupils were injured in their final battle against the Shredder, he wonders if they'll have time to heal, as armed men close in on the building.

Act 1: Open with the Turtles and Splinter as they arrive at Casey’s farmhouse. April sets up a makeshift infirmary in the attic to take care of her friends when Splinter hears footsteps outside. April and Casey check to see what's up and Jones discovers his no-good cousin Sid at the front door. Casey roughs up his kin a bit and tells him to get lost, but Sid is desperately seeking a treasure that he and Casey’s grandfather supposedly hid after robbing a train. Sid states that the old man used to always say "Spot marks the X" as a hint as to where it might be buried. Jones tells his cousin that nobody believed in that old story when Sid suddenly pulls out a Triceraton blaster and aims it at Casey and April, demanding to be given the booty.

Act 2: The Turtles and Splinter begin to make plans on how to help their friends when Leo spots a vehicle pulling up to the farmhouse. A group of Purple Dragons armed with more Triceraton blasters emerge from the SUV. The leader, Spuds, kicks down the door to the farmhouse and tells Sid that his gang has joined the Purple Dragons and is now calling in all their markers - including Sid's. Sid panics and tells the thugs that Casey took the cash from the train robbery. Jones once again argues that there is no money, and then the Purple Dragons begin to tear the house apart looking for the supposed treasure.

The Turtles hide Raph in a closet (against his will, but he's too wounded to fight), and make plans to remove the goons. Leo beeps Spuds' car's horn, drawing all of the Dragons outside save for the leader, who keeps his blaster aimed at Casey and April.

Act 3: As the Turtles and Splinter individually knock out the gangsters in different locations around the farm, the only Purple Dragon left is Spuds, who is still in the house, nervously holding Casey and April at gunpoint. There's a ruckus on the porch and when Spuds opens the front door to check it out, one of his henchmen falls into the room unconscious with a little drawing of a Turtle's face with its tongue sticking out taped to his chest. Casey and April use this distraction to their advantage and attack. Casey disarms Sid while Spuds tangles with April, who uses her new martial arts skills to toss him across the room. It looks like Casey and April have won the fight, but Spuds manages to grab his blaster and aims it right at O'Neil, forcing Jones to stand down.

Act 4: As Spuds aims his weapon, April reacts and uses some moves that Master Splinter taught her. Once again, April throws the hoodlum across the room and then punches and kicks him into submission. Casey grabs the blaster and threatens to use it on Spuds' SUV - something the villain fears more than anything. Spuds pleads for mercy and offers to erase Sid’s debt to the Purple Dragons. Casey agrees and we see Spuds and his men race of in the car.

Seeing that the trouble is over, the Turtles head back to the attic. As Mikey climbs through the open window, he laughs about how sore Raph will be to have missed all the fun. The jovial Turtle is right, and before he can get inside, Raphael grabs his crutch, sending him sprawling face first onto the floor.

Casey sits on the porch and strokes his chin, deep in thought. Suddenly he realizes where the treasure may be hidden - "Spot marks the X" must mean that the money is hidden where the old man buried his beloved dog, Spot. Upon moving a large headstone in the barn's foundation, they find an old lockbox. Sid takes it from Casey and walks off, but then gains some semblance of a conscious and offers to share it with his cousin. But when the box is opened, all they find inside is a bunch of receipts. Apparently Casey’s grandmother found the money first, a long time ago, and to make up for her husband's sins, she gave all of it to various charities.
