Sorry I haven't been around too much folks. I've been just swamped at work. But it's nice to see all the activity and new members!
But I need to let off some steam...

For my job I'm an Email/Database Administrator. At my job, we've (myself and the Network Admin) been having some problems with our email system, but nothing too catastrophic. However, instead of being able to work on the email system during regular hours or after hours on a week day, my boss figures the Network Admin and I don't have anything to do on a Saturday and we enjoy working on the weekend. So, we had to come into work on this past Saturday starting at 10 am. Joy! At first, things were running pretty smoothly with the maintenance on the email system and the only problem was it was time consuming. Well, of course things never go smoothly for us. So, while waiting for the email system maintenance to finish, another server decides to take a nose dive... royally. The server in question handles all our web services... Intranet, web-based calendar, and other various web stuff. And when I say nose dive, I'm talking about having the freaking Technodrome strapped to your back and caught in the gravity of a black hole. Now, if this web server didn't go ape, I would have been heading home at 6pm. Not bad... 8 hours overtime... and I still had Saturday night free. I didn't get out until 10 pm! And the thing was still borked! I would have cried if I wasn't so angry. Also, because of the state we left the server in, I wasn't sure if I had to rebuild the server from scratch or be able to repair it. But it was late, we were tired and we knew we had to come back on Sunday. Cuz if my boss didn't want the working but slightly off email system being repaired during regular hours, there's no way a dead server could be left till Monday. So, we decide to come back today (Sunday) at 9 am. To make a long story short, I was able to salvage the server without starting from scratch and everything was back to normal at around 2 pm.
So that was my crappy weekend. Sure the overtime hours will be nice, but I wanted to do some fun stuff this weekend. Instead, I'm tired as heck. I missed the season premiere of TMNT, but luckily I recorded it. I didn't get to do anything I wanted to this weekend. And since it's a busy time for me at work since we are opening 3 new buildings by the end of the year, I can't take any days off this week. So, I basically didn't get a weekend.
