Wow I haven't written much of a review here yet. Ok, here I am... going to do a few posts for this convention. * stares in shock that didn't get this done before hand * This is how busy I've been I guess.
Ok, Day One. Friday. SW and I got there around 7am, and sat around till 9am when one room for the convention opened. They told us that we have to across the street to get our badages, and when I asked when they open, and they told me at 9am. So SW and I walked across the street and even got into the building, though as we walked through the building and people saying "Anime North... that way" we notice that many people were still setting up. There was no way they were open. A lady came up and talked to us, she told us that we can't get our badges till 1pm, and the dealer room and all the panels don't even start till 5pm. (Wanna talk about a long day?)
SW and I walked back to the main hotel/place where most of the con was. We walked around checking the place out, sat down in many different areas. Played on the computer, called and let Mily know we were there. And just spent a lot of time waiting. At 1pm we went and got our badges. Around this time I saw a "Casey Jones" cosplayer. I got video of him, but didn't have my camera on me at the moment. So I didn't get any still shots. (though I'll try to snappy it off of the video).
It was around 3:30/4pm that Mily arived and we went getting in line to check in for the hotel. The line was about an hour and a half long, so right after checking in SW and I had to race to our first panel. Which had Quinton Flynn (Casey Jones for TMNT 4) and Jeff Nimoy (Wolfwood from Trigun). They were so funny together (sadly most of the panel didn't get video taped

) They sat down and said "This is your Q & A with Q & J". I did ask a few questions to Quinton about TMNT 4 though he couldn't really answer anything, so we're still waiting to see what comes of the movie.

I can't wait to see it.
The panel was mainly about Naurto since Quinton is a voice actor for the show and Jeff is the writer for the first season. The best story we got was about the line "Believe it". Someone asked what was up with that, and Jeff answered. The Japanese wanted Naurto to have a catch phraze, and they sent in a list of 50 different catch phrazes for him. The Japanese sent back "Believe it" which wasn't even on the list! So many may try to blame the americans for that, though it wasn't the fault of the studio!!!
Another thing I enjoyed hearing was how Jeff is a fan of a show he worked on. When he did Trigun, he didn't really know much about it, or anything. It wasn't till later that he finally watched it and found himself a fan catching every episoide! Which is totally cool, he really enjoys that character now. And when speaking like Wolfwood the line he seems to use the most is "Well Well Well, if it isn't Vash the Stampeed." The Wolfwood voice is very close to his own voice, which he's not use to, most characters are not done that close to your own voice.
After that panel is when the missing T-Shirt adventure happened, which I already wrote about here, so I won't get into that. Though I will speak of the FMA panel, which is the panel I went to while still worried about the missing Shirt.
We had two voice actors at this panel, Sonny Strait (Krillen on DBZ) and Colleen Clinkenbeard (Rose and Hawkeye on FMA). This was an FMA panel, and it was really good. I love FMA so this was a panel I didn't want to miss, I'm glad I went to it. I didn't ask many questions durning the panel, since I was so out of it from the missing T-Shirt. Though durning the panel one part really stood out to me... when Sonny wanted to know what was up with Canadain Mountain Dew. He had a can of it on the table in front of him. He went on how it doesn't even taste right.
Here is how it played out.
Me: Sonny! Do you want some real Dew?
Sonny: YES!
Colleen: It has to be diet!
Sonny: No it doesn't!
Colleen: Wow, not diet?
Me: I've got both Diet and normal Dew.
Sonny: I want normal!
Me: Ok, I'll bring it later.
Colleen still seemed in a bit of shock that he didn't want diet dew. After the panel I confirmed that with him, than we went to the car to get the dew for Sonny, while there I found my T-Shirt (weirdness of weirdness) than we went up to the autograph panel... where I saw Michael Dobson for one second. I said hi to him, and he asked me about my arm, though some lady was standing there kind of rushing him away so it was a short hello. Than we got in line for our autographs... and read the evil signs.
"1 autograph per a person and no pictures"
What kind of BS is that? When I go to conventions I know I spend a lot of money to get there, the traveling money, the fee to get into the convention, the money to stay at a place there, for food and of course money in the dealer room. The convention gets people by having their events and guests... though those of us that travel for the guest would like to at least be allowed a picture with them! It's just wrong to have a rule against that, some people don't do panels they just do autograph lines so it's worse for those people! They wouldn't even let me get video of Quinton signing my shirt.
Once Sonny showed up I gave him a few 20 oz of Mountain Dew and he told me he owes me a Krillen drawing!!!

So that was totally cool. I told him I'll get another time, since I got so much to get signed this time around. I got my FMA wall scrolls signed and was in and out of line to be able to get more than... ahem... one autograph.
After that we were done for the night, the dealer room was closed and there was no more panels.
(I don't have any pictures from this day cause my camera flipped out on me Saturday night and deleted all the pictures I did take... blah).
