Never pay full price for a late pizza

« on: August 18, 2005, 09:45:05 PM »

Hi everyone!

We're not competeing or anything with the other groups, infact I highly incourage people to share group information so others can explore forums within other groups.  So in this topic I'm asking for people to feel free to add links to Forums, message boards, mailing lists, and groups out there for the TMNT.  So someone looking for somewhere else to chat can check over here.

Here's a few that I'm a member on... or that I know of:

http://www.twelveOclock.net/forum/   This forum is owned by Shredder who was the longest running owner of the TMNT-L original mailing list which was founded in 1995, Shredder took over as the owner in 1996.

http://www.mikeytmnt.com/forums/  : This forum is down at this moment if I'm correct.

http://www.thetechnodrome.com/forums/  :  Which is a big forum and a lot of posting.  From what I know if it, it's very busy.   I'm IveyAngelo there though I'm a lurker.

http://www.4kids.tv/forum/  :  The offical 4kids TV Show Forum for TMNT is there.  The rules there are a bit strick for me with rules like no giving out emails, IM nicks or real life info.  So if you make a friend, you can't keep touch with them off the board.   (If anyone is there I'm IveyAngelo there)

http://www.livejournal.com/community/tmnt/  :  TMNT Community on Live Journal, a nice place sometimes busy sometimes kind of slow, but relaxing and friendly.

http://www.tv.com/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-2003/show/11995/forums.html :  A TMNT forum at tv.com, I'm lurking there not even a member so I don't know much about it.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tmnt2/  :  My favorite of the Yahoo groups, it was originally a club before they were merged with groups.   It was created by Andrea Turtle, a friend of mine from England which is why the main logo says Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles.   She's been quiet for awhile, though her group lives.

Please feel free to add other groups for people looking for more places to join and talk at.

Just to add one comment regarding the TMNT2 Yahoo Group.  New members have their posts moderated for a bit. We had a run of new members last year, due to Yahoo picking the group as a "Group of the month" (or whatever it was called). Anyway, with so much focus, came a bunch of spammers.

So, long story short (ha! too late!), new members are moderated. Once you've shown that you're not there to sell us stuff, the moderation is lifted.

Pretty good list there, Mike!

Ooohhh, thanks for adding that note bro... I was wondering why I was getting those emails... from Yahoo... it was so confusing.

And thanks about the list!   I've listed about everyone that I know of that's really good and easy to get too... some you can only get the URL after you joined a full other area.   Like Gaia has some good TMNT areas to talk, though ya can't get into the Guild unless you're a member.

A new RPG board has started up within the last couple of days:

Spearheaded and moderated by Graysight (Jade Green on the Technodrome Forum), this RPG takes place in the movie continuity, after the events of the recent CGI movie. The Turtles themselves are assumed to be 20 years old, and still getting used to the idea of Karai leading the Foot.

Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael are still open for applications, as are the roles of canon supporting characters like Splinter, April O'Neil, Casey Jones, Karai, etc. Fan-made characters are welcome as well. Normal humans would be nice, too -- not every character needs to be a mutant or ninja.

Interested players need an EZboard account; to apply for the character, carefully read the Rules section and post a bio application under these guidelines.

Hope to see you at the Asylum!

I'm a bit confused... all forums should be posted in this thread, even if it isn't a chat forum? For example, mine's an RPG... so I would post it here instead of making a new thread?

Thank you!
