Well, I recieved my first banning.
One I can see....Despite it being the only forum where only adults are allowed in that section, I got a warning for typing ****ing.....
The others are a bit more suspect. Starting so called 'pointless' threads....which I think is a matter of opinion. I can only imagine what they figure is a pointless thread and if it's one I started recently that over did it, there was really no call for it. the other was not using the 'search' function. IT must have happened maybe three times in the last year and the last time was apparently ban worthy. That's a bit light on the call too boot.
Online since 1993, and my first week long suspension ban. Unbelievable.. Ahh well. One less forum I'll feel like posting too more often...Even if the mods hated doing it..

Man, if every message board I've been to, banned people for not using the search function, there'd be no one left! How many times had you been warned to use the search function?

At least three that I can recall, but most have been spread out over the period of a month or two. But then if you revive an old thread from a month ago on some boards, you get the same reprimand, so you can never really win....
It's not near often enough to consider that part of a banning reason.I've never had a problem with anyone on that board, me thinks the mods are just in a super w rotten mood for some reason. But it's boards like that which I tend to frequent less and less......
And it's real odd, too. It was a normal conversation with one of the mods talking about adding a feature to the board, and a day later pointing him toward a proper link, and then boom. Out of nowhere this subject pops up. Go Figure..
Ahh well, just like in real life people where starting to ignore me anyway. Maybe I'll just delete my account there and just read from now on...

Wow, I could see the mods politely asking you to use the search, but to be so strict as to ban you for it is ridiculous. Personally, I don't think anyone should be banned, even temporarily, unless they either blatantly break the forum's rules and are well aware of it or unless they do something really stupid and devoid of any common sense like claim Hitler as a hero, then defend Nazis, then call people of a particular race "trash," then years later create a second account to dodge a ban, then falsely accuse others of being racist, then make more racist posts, then publicly admit to ban dodging. Now THAT would be worth a ban (I only wish that were just an example, but I've seen someone do exactly that...  ). |

Same here, not bringing any issues over, just trying to cheer Neil up with one of the many wacky examples I've seen of people getting banned. I should've paid more attention to the dates, though, since I see now that this thread is actually rather old...
