Came across this Geekvolution video. Two 'geeks' discuss what is the best tone for the TMNT - OS Cartoon, movies, 2003 series, comics, etc.  It is interesting to see the opinions...

As a family man, for me its the old toon. I want to show this stuff to my daughter first and if she ends up liking TMNT I will show her other material.

I guess there's really no right tone, I guess its a choice of which one suits you most.
