Cool, glad to see this isn't just for me. *G*

And it looks like they're not hiring anyone new, filming starts in September for the next series.

It's been a bit - we've now had two series of Top Gear and one of Grand Tour, which is the show that Clarkson, Hammond & May moved onto after leaving Top Gear. The first series of the new Top Gear was not well received, the main host left and the show was retooled a bit. The 2nd series was a big improvement.  Grand Tour did fairly well, also, so now petrolheads have two shows to watch.

Hopefully for a while to come. One of the Grand Tour hosts seems rather intent on changing that. A teeny bit of history, back in 2006 Richard Hammond had a colossal car crash, going 288 mph in a dragster. A tire blew, it flipped, dug into the grass (along with Richard's head), resulting in him being in a coma for a bit, serious memory issues and several months to even seem like he had recovered. (he hadn't - the 9th series, which aired after the accident...well, Richard admits today he remembers filming almost none of it). Anyway, aside from giving the tabloids something to repeatedly refer back to, Hammond has kept himself in one piece since then.

Until this year. Back in March, he crashed a motorcycle while filming the show. Bruised pretty much every part of his body, except for his left thumb. Otherwise, he's fine. Yesterday morning, he crashed an electric car on a hillside course in Switzerland. He got out of the car on his own, just before the car burst into flames. He's currently in hospital with a fractured knee that requires surgery. If his wife lets him get behind the wheel of anything more powerful than at tricycle after this, I'd be surprised. *G*

His nickname is 'The Hamster'. Someone mentioned that it should be 'The Cat' because it seems like he's got 9 friggin' lives.
